Regarding the sign language, considering how Mana explained Yuni's punishment, they likely turned off the part of the brain responsible for language processing. There are people IRL with similar conditions due to brain development issues or severe damage. If so, there is no conventional code or signs she could use because the very ability to tie thoughts to abstract symbols is removed. She is, in some way, like a dog. She could still learn basic commands, understand expressions and intonations, and communicate general feelings with them, but anything more complex is beyond impossible - the mere thought of something like words is literally incomprehensible to her now.

Ever since Miracle Snow almost 2 years ago, we've always been getting small pieces of Syuens hidden unnatural soft side throughout events/bonds. With the introduction of Jien, and Syuen sobbing after feeling betrayed, I feel like we're finally gonna see her family origin soon. If you ever get the resources, or just don't have the time, I'd reccomend watching Laplaces favorite item for additional context for this side story. This side-story hit like like a ton of bricks.

​​@@Dtosziit was revealed Syuen is desperate to stand out because Missilis is starting to slowly lag behind Tetra and ELYSION in terms of technology ever since Syuen became CEO. Yuni and Mihara, the War Dress Squad capturing Chatterbox would have been the breakthrough she needed to show that Missilis was making leaps in tech as she was going to reveal them to the public officially alongside their captured Rapture. Instead, it became widely known as "Syuen's Folly" and she was laughed at behind her back by the other CEOs and the employees of the other 2 + people in high positions that are vital in Missilis who knew Syuen made a big miscalculation and it revealed to them that she has no clue of what to do to save the company's future. Syuen is getting cornered as the story goes on and she keeps losing allies and Respect but not losing any power, and she recently got a death scare with her fake sentencing which she has no clue is a ruse and has her on the edge thinking that if she doesn't help Counters and The Commander as often as possible, she is going to live a fate worse than death (Nikke process), but she has no idea she's not really at risk. It is all building up to the point in which Syuen will lose it and have a true severe breakdown. And we are going to be there to help her out of it and I guess redeem her a bit and finally have her get a flip switch regarding her opinion on The Commander (us). Someone mentioned it before but... Syuen is fully human. And all things considered, she's as adult as us. Maybe even older not by a lot. She can reproduce. Something the NIKKEs can't do. Rapi is definitely the official wife, but Syuen might end up being the mother of your kids lol. The current revelations of her being likely an unwanted child (she's got a half-sister) implies her family life could be complicated... So I guess the Syuen endgame is giving her a shot at it with her at the helm of the family she will make. Idk, this story does so many sudden revelations Syuen getting fixed by us and then stuffed is one of the least absurd theories around. And even feasible even. It also makes sense she will be the starting point of us getting the backing of the big three one by one through different stories involving the CEOs in order to make Pro-Nikke and coexistence and equality changes through the Ark as for us to properly attempt such a thing, we will need the backing of the guys who supply the government and the average citizen first. Syuen is just step 1, then we have to get on the good side of Ingrid and Mustang... Funnily enough, Ingrid and Syuen might be a fuggin harem rivalry joke in the making because they are complete opposites down to body proportions and fashion style 😂😂😂.

Personaly, I think what really made Yuni spiral down is when she learned that Rapi keept her memory, imagine the injustice she must have felt, like she and Mihara were the only ones who were punished. Between Syuen and Jien, I feel like Syuen is the nice sister, my guess is that Jien must have been the genius in the family and Syuen must have allways been comapred to her, and Syuen must have been mistreated for being a "failure" which is why she risk everything to show her worth, and which is why she also mistreat those she see as failures

Same. Yuni and Mihara were following orders like they were supposed to and didn't know the mission was not approved by the CG and could get them in a ton of trouble. Then Syuen threw them under the bus to save her own skin. All things considering Mihara didn't really get any real punishment since a mind wipe is a complete reset but Yuni had the only thing she ever loved taken from her while commander who not only knew the mission wasn't approved suffered zero consequences and we did nothing to help her. Yuni wasn't a villain from the start she was turned into one after years of abuse and suffering which Crow preyed upon to manipulate her into doing terrible things.

The thing I liked most about Wordless is that it emphasized the bond Yuni and Mihara have together. It's tragic but there's an almost twisted form of hope, which seems to be the theme of the duo. This one hit me pretty hard. It’s not like Marian’s where shes able to recover her language Yuni’s stuck like that. My grandma had a stroke with Aphasia so she can’t talk, and the looking staring and focusing like Yuni was doing was something my grandma did to me all the time for awhile. But I didn’t have a Mana or a Leona to help me understand her so I kind of grew distant from her out of frustration. Oddly enough the other new event is about rehabilitation as well and my grandpa also can’t walk. Mihara looks really good, I kind of want 2 certain pilgrims to be the main anniversary units though. Putting a gacha costume on an SR would be wild I doubt that’s the case. We’ll see how they do this.

The "Empowering a Nikke with Rapture parts" sounds a lot like trying to either make another Heretic (that's loyal to the Ark) or Snow White. Snow has replaced a lot of her parts with Rapture parts, and that's only to survive. If Rapi ever sees this version of Yuni, it's gonna make her feel worse.

This was so emotional on any aspects that can be expected. The first scene when Mihara crying takes a few drops but when she said Thank you to Syuen, Idk why but I just balling my eyes out. Now hearing you talk abt that one scene makes so much sense now. Glad that you felt it too at that scene😢 also I wanted to point out that Wardress project is founded after Matis as Mihara describe Wardress being created to continues on the success of Matis. The fact that Matis is such a resounding success and become one of the top squads of the Ark and it might be Syuen first big achievement. And maybe after the failure of how Wadress to become, her attitude towards Nikkes may worsen from there because you can see her tone when talking with Wardress and taking pictures seems different, there are pride and happiness in her. So at least through this, we can roughly guess how she had to become like what she is today.

I wonder what the commander would feel when he sees the "new" Yuni... While I do know that Yuni deserves punishment, everything about her "punishment" isn't humane. It's inhumane. We moved away from hanging, drawing, and quartering because we believe that we should be humane, even to those that deserve the ultimate punishment. Final meal requests, sometimes a choice of method of execution, time with a spiritual advisor, final words, a proper burial or an urn to keep your ashes in. This lacks all of that. For Jien, and many in the Ark, they are all tools, weapons, and hunks of metal. Nothing more. The lack of humanity at display is the reason why I, along with many, are so heartbroken. This lack of humanity is why I am now truly realizing that the Ark is full of heartless monsters. They turned her into a faceless entity mutilated beyond human. Especially considering that, from our special POV, we see Nikkes as humans.

Yes, Syuen has a different kind of affection for her Nikkes, but she acts as if she doesn't. Whether it's pride, vanity, or the pressure to appear strong, she admires her creations. We know this because of her obvious bias towards Matis. I'm sure that last "it hurts" was something that genuinely hurt her, but she doesn't know how to accept it or cope.

I truthfully barely noticed Leona and Pepper's VAs being different, Mihara's I immediately noticed but also I think whoever filled in did do a really good job overall. The performance was a bit stilted and robotic at times but with her basically being remade with another mind wipe, I felt like it fit. To be fair though, I never pulled Pepper so I only know her from the summer event and that's been basically a full year.

I had had that little bit spoiled for me, so I had been keeping a little extra ear out during the chapter. It's the "two operators" scene, after she dissapates the alva particles so exia can mark the mindfield: "we all know how it works. You start getting close to the Nikke, and before you know it, they're gone. That's why there's a clause in the operator code of conduct to not get attached to the nikkes. But... I can't do that. I want you all to come out of this alive. And I want to help. I just don't want to be separated from my friends." After Mihara's judgement, Under her disguise she confided how she felt. And the events and side stories continue to reinforce it.

Matis is basically her pride and joy. Almost as if their her own children. One of her few squads that is consistently successful too. In fact I don't even remember her calling Matis rust buckets ever. Which leads me to believe that she only uses "rust buckets" as a slur to distance herself and not getting attached to anymore nikkes. She did fought tooth and nail for Matis to stop them from having their memories wiped like Mihara. Imagine if she treated all her squads like Matis, she's probably constantly be heartbroken like with Wardress.

I've never hated Syuen. I've always thought she's that way mostly because of the terrible environment she grew up in. People constantly betray and backstab each other that nice people HAVE to pretend that they aren't, just to survive. Syuen is the kind of person that can't cope with loss. She hurts others so she won't get close to them, so she won't get hurt when she loses them. She's mean to everyone and doesn't get along with anyone so she can never get betrayed, never get exploited, never get hurt. The ONLY Nikke she is kind with, are the ones she considers invincible and thinks she'll never lose. With people Syuen never interacts with, never gets to know, never in a position to potentially hurt Syuen, like Anne's mother and parents meeting their Nikke children after they've been converted, she's genuinely nice to them, and genuinely feels sorry for them. Deep down Syuen really cares about Mihara and Yuni, but she couldn't do anything to stop Mihara from being killed/wiped, and it was 100% her fault. She herself hurt the few people she cares about, and she can't cope. So she lashes out. She hurts Yuni to the point it breaks her, and even then Mihara saves Syuen's life and takes a bullet for her. Now Syuen has lost both Mihara and Yuni forever. She's always going to be thinking about them, and it LITERALLY hurts her to think about Yuni because of the brain damage. I could be totally wrong, but that's how I've always felt. Thanks for your amazing streams and videos, and I'll always be a fan of yours. Hope you recover soon too.

Cuz for me, I agree to an extent that Syuen is having to deal with the wickedness of the world but she lacks resiliency. There are other leaders, including Mustang, that have dealt with their fair share of issues but they have managed to work it out and not in a way that negatively impacts them or the NIKKEs. Granted it might be because she is young and doesnt have the experience and wouldnt be surprised if that was the answer

I highly recommend everyone read the book "The Righteous Mind" by Jonathan Heidt. It discusses the evolution of moral intuition and explains why so many people who want to do the "right thing" will so often disagree on what the right thing actually is. The chat's discussion on Yuni's guilt and culpability made me think of the book and how it has so many application on helping us understand other people's perspectives on the proper course of justice and punishment.

I have a personal theory on Jien (spoilers on recent story chapters warning). Considering she’s described as being very mysterious and works from behind the scenes, away from the public eye and even making her involvement in Yuni’s punishment extremely confidential, I have a sneaking suspicion that Jien is Sixo. They seem to operate in a similar manner, and Jien WOULD have the resources and connections to do the things that Sixo has done (and is trying to do). Obviously there’s no actual evidence but I wouldn’t be surprised.

GOD, this story broke me. Yuni was my 1st SSRs and was my main B2 unit even to this day. I can't imagine how the Commander is going to react when he sees what happened to Yuni. Also, to clear up some confusion. Matis wasn't directly made my Syuen like Wardress, she was directly involved with the making of Laplace but only over saw Maxwell and Drake. Where Wardress was her personal project. The problem is although Matis is arguably the strongest squad in the Ark it is move of an accomplishments of Missilis and not her own.

I'm really sad but also happy for Mihara & Yuni to be together again, despite the circumstances. One thing that bothers me is not what happened to Yuni but Mana dealing with all of this. . First administering the Real Kindness Squad's rehab (her "co-workers"), next the Commander's antics with them, then safeguards the Heretic specimens only for them to break out anyway (Marian included), & now this. IMO the reason why Syuen kept saying she felt hurt at the end was because she still remembered Yuni. Mana explained that Syuen would get headaches when she sees Yuni or hears her name so Syuen did actually get headaches but because she remembered about the good times between her and Wardress after Mihara thanked her.

I think this is a first. I wanted to see Syuen knocked down from the word "go." My hatred for Crow was a well-earned one, and it took plenty of time and work. Even with Old Tales, my denial mechanisms held me back until well after the end. This is the first time I was seeing red before I even heard the name. My first reaction was, "whoever is responsible for this should die," repeating in my mind like a madness mantra.

Man, i didn't know what to expect with this side story... there was so many ways to go and i honestly like how things went, at least so far, i might eat my words down the line. Plus the tease of new lore bits... then the actual tease that is SSR Mihara. Like, i understand the 'why' more now given Wardress were bodyguards. Plus that little bit of Syuen at the end, i really liked that, kinda hope they build on that, a lot of potential there. The only thing i'm not sure i agree with is Enikk's decision, it seems a bit too much of trying to make a gap between the 2 potential outcomes. ...but damn, i can't wait for BuffYuni alt, speaking only through her true language... then maybe a rematch with Chatterbox. Not really sure where i fall on the whole Yuni to blame thing... well, except that Crow will always be the worst, noone is taking that spot. I like Yuni so it sucks that she had to be altered (obviously i'd want Enikk's choice but that's kinda why i call bs on it) but she really F* things up. i'd like to think getting to be with Mihara (and properly fitting together again) is probably worth it in her eyes though... plus she gets to eye a lot more of Mihara now too.

If we look at the bigger picture, I think Syuen so far is the unluckiest CEO among the three. Despite how big her reputation is and Missilis, how advance their tech that even rivals Elysion, and being the most reliable, everything that she has done has never went her way. In comparison to the rest, while Ingrid and Elysion is not the best, often overshadowed by the other two (in-game and lore), they are still capable to retain consistent prowess on the field and military value. Then there's Mustang and Tetra who is by far the most influential and favored in the ark and rarely do they receive major issues that would harm them in any way. For Syuen: Wardress squad's failure and subsequent memory wipes, Matis being corrupted and was boycotted to have them dismantled, was unable to participate in the Modernia Campaign, the Exotic squad going rogue, Yuni beating her up, tricked and threatened that she'll become a Nikke, and as of now still recovering physically and mentally while still working as CEO. Of course, most of these cases were of her own doing, but when she does something that weren't out of her own interest, bad things still happened to her, and frankly it is unfair. At the end of the day, we can blame Chatterbox for messing up Wardress' mission in the first place.

Finally I manage to catch up this Side Story. "Wordless", really match with this story. Maybe I don't like Yuni that much, but seeing her like this, even I really feel bad for her. And her relationship with Mihara, eventhough she can't normally say any words, but when she wanted to asked about Mihara... It's really sad... 😥 This Side Story is really good. Even we can see Syuen other side.

Yuni's punishment, while cruel, is really quite fitting for her crimes. She's forced into eternal penance, and can never use her words to deceive people again. Ironic, considering that characters that also used their words to deceive like Crow and Sin got off lightly by comparison, but from the perspective of the Ark, it makes sense. Unlike Crow, who is a useful case study of a Nikke actively defying the NIMPH's directives, and Sin, who has a useful power, Yuni is, well... essentially useless. Both in the lore and gameplay, she's dead weight. Syuen, while a sadistic b*tch, wasn't completely wrong in calling her scrap metal. Yuni's only remaining use in the eyes of MMR was as a guinea pig for their experiments. And we all know that MMR (my impressions of Jien is that she's similar to Ether) has zero compunctions about unethical procedures on unwilling patients. I feel bad for Mihara, but she's making the best of a bad situation and finding what little solace she can. I respect her for that immensely.

Yeah i mentioned this in another comment but Crow was a puppet master. She was able to use her wrods to influence others like Yuni to do ill will because she was in a vulnerable state. And thats why she was able to technically "get away with it" while Yuni got the worst of it.

For the people hardcore h8ing on Yuni, I don’t ask you to forgive her because what she did definitely is way too hard to be forgiven, just try to understand the spiral that got her to that point… or did you forget Syuen used to beat Yuni out of nowhere when she was angry?
