This is an excellent solution. Thank you Touch Technology Review. It worked for me on the same wifi network but NOT in a remote situation over internet. I checked the firewall settings as you suggested but just will not connect. The client MacBook I am trying to access is on Big Sur. My Mac is on Sonoma 14.7. I would love to get this to work. Thanks for any feedback you can give

Question - I have a weird question - Can you screen share with a mac mini would be on but would not have a monitor on? I am trying to run a old program that is only available on the mac mini since the OS is older.

A question so If I screen share a mac in canada from India and access some website the whose ip address would be shown on that website?
@ruzaroos2 ай бұрын
If you access the site from the computer in Canada, the website sees the computer in Canada. You should just use a VPN if all you want is a Canda IP.

How to do this over the Internet? I heard I can use Tailscale to make both Mac computers in the same virtual network so in theory, this screen sharing should work over the Internet.

This only works if you are on the same network.

This only works for me if both computers are on the same network (in my case hooked to the same wifi). Why does he say "in the household or in a remote location?"

Hi. Apple says you have to be on the same network for Screen Sharing. Are they wrong?

Yes this only works for pc's/systems/laptops on the same network.

@@basic-2-advance I guess I’m confused what a “network” is then. I thought it meant connect to the same WiFi or wired network. I just used this feature with a couple of my friends in different states and it worked perfectly

@@C69hJc4 Oh wow !I am trying this feature for the past few months and all I see is the screen sharing between mac's on the same wifi/network.May be can you share how to use this for remote screen sharing access between mac's on different wifi/network (in different cities/locations).

Never did get into Apple products. This sounds like a pretty handy thing tho...

Yeah it's a pretty cool feature and great that it is built in. You can do a similar thing with windows using a remote desktop software which I think is free to download. 👍
