I know that it's been said and requested before but, it would have been awesome if Knight Rider, Airwolf, Street Hawk, A-Team and all the other Universal Action TV shows were all in the same shared universe. Also, the Michael Jackson connection makes sense and comes full circle because K.I.T.T. did give Michael Jackson a shout-out in "Junkyard Dog" with the Moonwalk question. And going back to the Different Strokes episode, I always thought as a kid that Michael Knight was working undercover as David Hasselhoff on a F.L.A.G. assignment that happened off screen.

Season 5 of the A-team used Airwolf in a dream sequence by Murdock. Then there’s Dukes which had the Stasky and Hutch striped tomato in, a screen used “Herbie” appears in an episode of KR and I think the General Lee makes a cameo in another episode.

@@jamielowe3060 the Herbie wasn't screen used, but just a bug with stripes. The "general lee" was in give me liberty or give me death and was parodying dukes as the prince brothers' car ran on moonshine. The starsky and hutch torino in the dukes pilot ep "one armed bandits" was one of the limited edition versions Ford built in 1976. It was owned by a crew member.

@@pdennis93 It is a screen used Herbie, used in Herbie Goes Bananas and the Herbie TV show. The reason it only has the blue stripe is because it's the only painted part of the decals. Looking closer you'd notice the custom seats and even the Disney added dashboard clock.

Another great video - good fun and well researched. As a boy I always used to think/wonder that the black Trans-Am seen in the feature-length season season 'A-Team' story "When You Comin' Back, Rider?" was a KITT, but unlikely the interior certainly doesn't match, being pretty much a standard Trans-Am. However, as that was 1983, it's quite possible it was one from the infamous train derailment.

There is a black Trans-Am used in S2 ep5 of the A-team “When you coming back Range Rider”, I always wondered if this was a KR or even if it was the Trans-am from Smokey and the Bandit 3 (the one without Burt Reynolds!)

Confident it was not used in S&B3, none of those cars were Recaro TAs like the one in The A-Team. They were base Trans Ams. I don't think we see the interior of Michael Long's very similar black/gold TA in the pilot of KR to know if it was a Recaro or not.

Was a 1983 Recaro in "when you coming back range rider?" The same car also appeared in the Hardcastle and McCormick episode "hot shoes McCormick" Speaking of H&M, in the season 1 episode "school for scandal", McCormick breaks into and hotwires a 1984 Corvette during a class about committing crimes. It's white with red interior and is most certainly the A-team vette sans it's red stripe. Both shows were produced by SJC and vehicles routinely appear in both shows.

In terms of Knight Rider, Airwolf and Street Hawk, we've all friends under the Universal umbrella. The only other show vehicle appearance I knew about on this list (besides the 'Half Nelson' clip) was the use of Jesse's Mach 1 Mustang in _Give Me Liberty... or Give Me Death_

I remember watching Laugh Busters when it aired. It was awful even then. And frankly, I probably only watched it for Knight Rider. For some reason, I remember Danny and KITT turbo boosting, and kindof getting the impression that they were about to accidentally fly into Spider-Man on the other side of the fly paper, then cut to commercial. For some reason I missed the conclusion, but don't remember feeling any great loss for having missed it. I don't know who's voice seems more out of place in that clip; KITT or Spider-Man.

Poor Gary Coleman. He was probably fifteen years old and due to a medical condition that stunted his growth, he was about as tall as a nine year old. RIP Gary Coleman. Emmanuel Lewis had a similar affliction.

I remember hearing once that the black K2000 used in the brief opening credits of Knight Rider 2000 as it drives towards the camera and the red 4000 drives away was a new filmed shot for that movie. Not entirely sure though. But it didn't look like a reused shot from an episode (unlike scenes from the pilot remembered by Devon while getting his "RNA" scanned).

It's pretty cool. Once in Portugal, it was exactly at "Amoreiras" commercial center. This was after around 88 or 89 (if I remember correctly). David was there with one of the screen-used K.I.T.T. By now I can't tell which one was. We saw it by the RTP1 channel (at that time we only had RTP1 and RTP2 channels from the same TV station). I remember this one night I and my family saw an episode from Miami Vice. Don Johnson was driving during the night one of screen-used K.I.T.T...or was it? Well, my mother told me at the moment (because I wasn't paying so much attention to the episode) and when I saw it, I said "hey, that's orange K.I.T.T." (referring to the orange scanner it had)...exactly. We know exactly who had an orange scanner. Could it be that one single lost K.A.R.R. we don't know where is until now? Curiously I saw this episode before RTP1 started the third season of Knight Rider (in 1988). Sadly this is something I can't even confirm since I never saw that episode again. I watched some episodes and even searched on google without any success. I remember it as I saw it yesterday, but I can't say which episode was.

You missed another national appearance guys. There was an old TV show back in the 80s, Fantasy. Not the island one, but basically, a reality show that granted people's wishes. Usually to special people, and reuniting people. The Show Fantasy had a segment where a little boy (for some reason or another) was asked to stand on a corner and wait, and then before long, Kitt and the Hoff came and picked him up and granted his families wish for him. I've never been able to find that. The clip or even segments. You're the Historians right? And I know a few of you. :-) There's your challenge if you choose to accept it. ;-)

Didn't they use a screen used KITT in the commercial for that Knightrider self-launching race track toy? :) Also, you mention the appearance of the right hand blind-drive car in that segment where the kid saves Spider-man (voiced by Dan Gilvezan!), but to me it will always be the season 1/2 hero car, hehe. And at the Disney show David once again stands on Kitt's door. If that really was the season 3/4 hero car.... ouch :P

Although Street Hawk could go about 300 mph before KITT. I like to think Hyperthrust might have been the inspiration for Super Pursuit Mode given both had similar speeds and the ability for quick course changes on city streets.

The Fall guy had a chase with one, as did The A-Team. There was one in a chase on Hardcastle and McCormick as well, but it was a newer model 85 with an aftermarket convertible conversion.

I wonder if you could compile a video with K.I.T.T. replicas apearing on T.V.. Actually posing as K.I.T.T. and not just showing of the replica. One that comes to mind ist the one that was very often in the studio of Austrias ORF1 during Knight Riders first run in Austria. So it was actually more than just one occation as far is I can remember. And with the same problem some of the original KITT cars in this video had: not using the original (german dub) voice.

Were any of the T/As used in "Smokey and The Bandit 3" Train Derailment cars? Did any of those cars survive to be converted into KITT? I think KR season 1and SATB3 were filmed around the same time. Just wondering. Great work, Thanks for posting.

Possible but unlikely; date of the derailment would narrow it down. Bandit Part 3 was filmed from Oct. 26 1982 through Jan 1983 entirely in Florida. A casual search didn't show when the derailment took place but most articles stated during 1983.

We had been looking for the filming dates of SMB Part 3, thank you! The train derailment occurred on November 11, 1982, but it still is unlikely those cars were used in this production.

The red Knight Rider 2000 thousand car was used in Power Rangers Time force and Demolishion Man, and it has recently been baught by videobobmosely a KZbinr whose main business is professionals builds replicas of KITT the back to the future Delorian and Ecto one, but I believe he sold it because it was so badly damaged and missing costum parts he didn’t think he could afford the time it would take to restore it

Wow!!! I actually waited to see if you have the appearance I remember seeing live on TV as a kid which was the 30th Disneyland Anniversary.
