The Netflix kingpin was an amazing villain who challenged the Heroes on a mental level as much as a physical one, he made us feel like Matt and friends were in serious danger. Kingpin was cold, calculating, and always one step ahead of everyone keeping us all guessing what he would do next. I hope the MCU makes him a serious threat again, who we feel actually has a chance of winning, and redeems his debut in Hawkeye.

Kingpin was benching nearly 500 lbs. in the Netflix show so him ripping off a car door in hawkeye isn’t all that far fetched. He’s always been super strong, it’s just Disney has the budget to really show it

I’m excited for Echo. I wasn’t before, but the recent trailers looked good and I’m hoping it’s dark and gritty like Nextflix’s Daredevil & Punisher. It has promise, hoping this serves as a nice appetizer before DD: Born Again eventually comes out.

My biggest concern with the new Daredevil series in Disney Plus is the MCU's tendency to make every final fight a huge messy CGI fest. The final fights in the original Netflix series were so personal and emotional it was so satisfying than majority of the MCU films and series.

The only complaint I had about the Daredevil series was they never showed his stunts. In the comics he would be talking to someone and,without “looking”, just backflip off the roof of a high rise building. We knew he was blind and had a radar that made it possible, but they freaked out. It was like how Batman always just disappears on people. Anyway, I would like to thank you for the Doug training montage. Made my day. Extra scritches for the stair master!

I think after their brief fight against each other in prison is when Fisk put two and two together about Matt & Daredevil being one in the same. But after the events of Defenders, it wasn't until that episode of Season 3 of Daredevil specifically that Matt "officially" resurfaces.

I’m definitely feeling the effects of having a mcu interconnected universe it kinda sucks that everything takes so long to make it’s gonna be like 10 years plus probably before we could see a comics accurate 616 cast of characters represented on screen cause i wanna see Tony stark interact with reed Richard’s and Bruce banner and Hank Pym. I really hope they give kingpin the super soldier serum in the mcu, it makes perfect sense to me, it works as a connection to the broader mcu, makes him an even greater threat that Matt can no longer face alone, and we can also maybe get a realistic badass fight between him and Spider-Man where your suspension of disbelief doesn’t have to be through the roof to make it work

Great recap, Ryan. Given that Kingpin appears to have some sort of powers now (survives getting shot point blank, ripping a car door off), I wonder if getting beaten so resoundly by Daredevil twice has led him to seek out some way to come out on top in his next encounter with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. We know the Super Solider Serum seems to be floating around out there (as you noted), and there are a few mysterious benefactors that still haven't been identified, wouldn't take much to connect those dots to Kingpin.

Theory - I know who is going to be the character in the MCU who finally brings down Kingpin for good - Ghost Rider. Synopsis - Since the Netflix series is now fully canonized that means that Kingpin's ideology has been brought over into the MCU as well. So, in Daredevil season 1 episode 4 Kingpin says to Vanessa, "I'm not proud of the things I've done, Vanessa. I've hurt people. And I'm going to hurt more. It's impossible to avoid for what I'm trying to do." Then he says in season 1 episode 8, "That's why I still wear these, to remind myself that I'm not cruel for the sake of cruelty. That I'm not my father! That I'm not a monster!' With these quotes, Kingpin is saying that he's fully aware what he's doing is hurting those around him and that at some level, he his cruel. Ghost Rider's penance stare only works on those who have souls and know what they've done, that's why Ghost Rider is the perfect character to truly defeat Kingpin.
