i love that keaton only did this movie on the conditions that 1. beetlejuice isnt the main character 2. burton had to use mostly practical effects keaton knew what made the first film good and refused to do the sequel unless those terms were met

I think he's been so caught up in the green screens and CGI of the last decade or so of his work with few exceptions, that it's no wonder going back to getting something you can interact with has been so freeing for him.

Catherine O'Hara was pretty good in it. Not a lot of people in theater when I saw it but I was the only person who laughed when she put the house in a black death shroud.
