I remember watching Phantom menace in the theater...i was like WDF ??this guy playing Palpatine is dialed in like crazy..He IS the Emprorer...I didnt even realize it was Ian Mcdiarmid himself at 1st. So its a hard call with all the great performances but Ian fkin killed it as the Emporer..and then to come back and play the other half of his character being a full 180 degrees different...charming, witty, vulnerable and SINISTER...Palpatine FTW.

He made the Darth Vader what he is, but he didn't preform any acting. There was an actor in that suit and without him there would also be no Darth Vader. James Earl Jones made up only a percentage of that character. Alsohis voice is naturally deep which is again, hardly a performance at all. When we are talking about best performance Harrison Ford is the clear winner. He made Han Solo iconic through is acting ability and not just his voice.

But let's just disregard that and focus on the Prequels that set an example of people being way too power for their age...u know the time when Anakin was the only human able to compete in a podrace, or him building C3PO when he was nine years old, or him destroying the a base...while being nine years old. Ok..now that we know this shit happens in SW let's focus on Rey, we dont know where she is from, but its seems like she was trained, so that means that she should be able to do all that...cause she is powerful like Anakin and a mature person like Obiwan. Calling this movie trash is really unfair and completely nonsensical esp for those reasons. Also traning is not and never was the reason for Jedi being powerful. Otherwise Qui Gon shouldn't have lost or Luke shouldn't have won.

I think if I had to pick a favorite actor from the Star Wars movies it would be Ian McDiarmid. He's a joy to watch in all four movies he's in (I know technically it's 5 now due to the re-edit of Empire but I don't count that). In fact, just in the same way the guy argues about if Yoda didn't work then the movie would fail, I think what makes the prequels watchable in some (large) part, despite everything, is that Palpatine is a massively compelling villain and McDiarmid builds this guy over three films to the point that he IS Revenge of the Sith in a lot of ways. So that when you go back to Return of the Jedi the character and performance are richer because of the work he did. In a way he was TOO good for Lucas - or the standard that should've been set with several others - in those prequels

The TIE shouldn't have won just based on the fact that it is such a broad term. There is an extremely high amount of different TIEs, and just saying TIE fighter usually means the Standard TIE fighter, which is a piece of crap. The TIE is a flying death trap, no shields, no hyperdrive and enemies will quickly notice you because of the sound produced by the twin ion engines. Want something better, how about an Eta 2, or a TIE interceptor (at least its faster), or a TIE advanced (Vader's TIE that replaced his Eta 2) or a First Order TIE (shields and hyperdrive). Slave I on the other hand is 100% unique, extremely customizable, has lots of room for storing and just look at the weapons featured so far. Twin blaster cannons, laser cannons, proton torpedos, concussion missiles, ion cannons and seismic charges (and that's just the canon version).

I mean, if you want to get technical, you can't hear the sound of the Twin Ion Engine in a space dogfight because, yknow, it's in a vacuum. The sound in the movies is like the musical score, it's there for audience benefit but the characters can't hear it. Also, some TIE pilots have considered the limits of their fighters to be a challenge. You have to be a damn good pilot to accomplish anything with it.

When Luke is dragging his father to the ship, takes his mask off and then says that he won't leave Vader behind, he has to save him, Vader responds: "You already have, Luke." Round 2: If it is only about lighstaberfights without force powers, Grievous would win. He is an excellent fighter and doesn't need the force to fight against Jedis. So in a battleroyale, he could crush many enemies easiely. However, with force powers, I would give it to Palpatine

Obi Wan would win the battle royal . His light saber style is a defensive style that leads him to excell in longer fights with miltiple enemies. It's the reason Obi Wan was able to defeat General Grievous.

His force wall is pretty weak however as Count Dooku has broken it several times. It terms of swordwork, Kenobi is up their with Windu, Yoda, Anakin and Palpatine but he'd lose because of his weaker connection to the force. The winner is easily GM Luke if we're talking Jedi vs Sith but the Ones (The son, father, sister, and Abeloth) would no doubt beat all as they are the physical embodiments of each aspect of the force.

Adam J. Coffman no no no no Obi-Wan is a master of form 3 of lightsaber combat (deemed by Mace Windu) which is called Soresu and is an entirely defensive style. For his attack he uses Ataru the 4th form of lightsaber combat which is purely offensive dueling and was used by Qui-gon Jinn, Yoda, and Ahsoka Tano (note: Jinn and Kenobi only used the Ataru bladework which was long, sweeping attacks and didn't use the acrobatic aspect of the form which Tano and Yoda used). Kenobi wasn't a master in form 4 but he used it adequately. He of course used the force to augment his physical abilities and combat opponents but this didn't give him mastery in all 7 forms of lightsaber combat. Sidious was skilled in all forms of lightsaber combat (Shi cho, Makashi, Soresu, Ataru, Shien/Djem So, Niman, Vaapad/Juyo) and that combined with his immense strength in the force made him an almost unrivaled opponent

Sketchy Fella They took a poll for every battle. You made a very general comment if you were referring to just one battle you should of said so. Frank Oz wasn't an actor you could hardly call his contribution a performance and it's nothing compared to Ford's. For KOTOR battle it was clear that judge knew nothing about KOTOR where the fans, the people on twitter, did it makes sense he would ask them. It's why that had a poll in the first place. By offering audience participation, including their opinion into their battle, and acknowledging them those fans will more likely continue to be fans.

Revan is beyond overrated. Also, if I'm being honest, I'd prefer for KotOR the game to remain an ambiguous RPG. One of the biggest mistakes made by Lucasfilm in the past was deciding a "canon" truth for everything from Revan's gender to his physical appearance to the choices he made in the game to his lightsaber color.

Yoda literally says to obi wan that he wouldnt be powerful enough to face palpatine hence why he goes to face anakin, whom he only just bests. Palpatine yoda and windu at the time of revenge of the sith were just more powerful than the likes of obi wan and anakin

51:50 best Han Solo line, "boring conversation anyway" that whole conversation was a Han bluffing his way through an 'official' sounding conversation... but then just gives up and makes a sarcastic snide remark under his breath. Until then most conversation had been very 'mystical' 'space fantasy' sounding dialogue. That one line under his breath made Hans' everyman humanity come rocketing in, cementing him as the lovable rogue in a world of princesses and wizards in space.

My picks. ROUND 1: Harrison Ford Try to imagine anyone else as Han Solo and the whole franchise probably falls apart. ROUND 2: Toss-up between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Darth Vader A battle royale feeds directly into what all of them are good at: fighting multiple enemies at once, albeit for different reasons. Obi-Wan's main strategy would be to sit back, block and parry any attacks that come his way, and then move in to finish any survivors off once the competition is too weak to fight back. Yoda's main strategy would be to jump everywhere and swing his lightsaber all around himself, making him nigh untouchable as most of his opponents are hitting each other while trying to hit him. Darth Vader's main strategy would just be to march forward and crush anybody who comes near him into dust as efficiently as possible. Should he get hit, his armor is strong enough to withstand lightsabers and blaster fire. All of them are very smart fighters and adaptable fighters as well, so whatever comes their way, they can just adjust their strategies to. ROUND 3: KotOR Specifically, the events that led to Anakin's birth. ROUND 4: "No. I AM your father." This was the big wrench thrown into Luke's plans for battle against the Empire, a major turning point in his motivations. ROUND 5: Coursant Disregarding the political whatsit constantly roiling around, Coursant seems like a great place to live, especially visiting the old Jedi temple for a history lesson or two.

So refreshing though to finally see Star Wars fans that know their shit, when Dan proposed an adaptation of the old KotoR comic, I was like "no freagin way this is happening in movie fights" Also he could have worked more arguments in, ike how Carrick's story takes place during the mandalorian wars, how it gives us an origin sotry to Revan, how the covenant foresees the Skywalkers in a vision, like there's so much to work with and such great characters

I didnt really like his Obi-Wan. In his performance, it was just an old-jedi-teacher of the MC. Nothing more. His fight with Vader in episode 4 didnt have any emotions at all. I would never guessed, they have such big story behind them. Ewan Mcgregor, on the other hand, made Obi-Wan much more interesting character, than just a teacher. Salty, trollish, careful, smart character, and I could literally feel his pain, when he was watching Anakin burn. I loved Ewan's Obi-Wan more.
