Just gonna drop this here. Kristoff is based off the Sami people living in nothern scandinavia and they breed reindeers. Svens mother was simply in ripe age for slaughter. Regarding Oogie Boogie, I remember reading something somewhere that said he actually WASN'T an original resident of Halloween Town, but was sort of an immigrant after his own holiday, "Bug Day" basically became one of those things better left forgotten. In the original, he's not actually a good person. Disney has a habit od giving stories better endings or making the characters nicer/crueler to fit a narrative. Of you think Peter Pan was bad, don't look up any of the Grimm brothers' versions of the fairytales Disney used as a basic for many of their classic movies . . . Im confused about the citizens of Halloween town dying in the real world. How has this been established? I think Halloween town (as well as the other Holiday towns) just exist somewhere undiscovered by mortals. Jack flies to the real world (and knows where it is), opposed to taking (or discovering) a magical portal, which means it all exists on the same plane. The reason Oogie Boogie seems dated is because the story takes place "A long time ago, longer now than it seems." I think Halloween town is just a spooky place, or merely perhaps one that we just see in our dreams...

It seems you know nothing about Sami, the native people of scandinavia...A lot of things with Kristoff is based on the Sami. Sami traditionally take care of reindeer for a living, that means they take care of the young, herd them, and slaughter them for meat, skin and horns. It is nothing strange for them to wear deer pelts as clothing. And Svens mother isnt necissarily dead, animal mothers sometimes abandon their children because of different reasons such as the child being too sick, to frail, or just not having any mothering feelings, it would only be natural for a Sami to step in and take care of the reindeer... Sometimes Sami kids are gifted their own reindeer babies to learn to take care of them.

The only problem with Bambi's mother being in Beauty and the Beast is a bit of technicality. Bambi and his mother are listed as mule-deer, native to western North America, not found in Europe at all. So, technically, Gaston would not likely be the killer. Again, this is all based of technical details.

Just to add to this, Flower is a skunk, and we see chipmunks and raccoons amongst the other woodland animals. these are all native to North America, and certainly not Europe in the 18th or 19th centuries. Whilst it isnt impossible Gaston could have sailed to the New World from France to go hunting, then sailed back, i think it unlikely.

When a servant told him that the queen was dying and begging for him, the king dismissed the servant and stayed in the room. Part of me hopes that one day they put that extended Zira scene back into the film, idk if it's just me but now that I know that small scene exists the scene in the final movie feels very incomplete plus is it really worse than Scar being eaten by the Hyena's or Mufasa being trampled, Ursula get impaled and explode while her entrails rain down in the ocean, or Frollo falling from Notre Dame, or the Evil Queen being crushed by a boulder etc. etc. the list goes on my point is Disney has had much darker deaths for characters over the years is the cut-Zira sequence really any darker than any other villains demise after all it's just a bit of dialogue that's very in-line with Zira's character, she's a dark character of course her demise is going to equally as dark (I've also never been convinced that she is really dead.)
