Colleen O'Shaughnessey is an absolute treasure. I'm super glad they decided to have her voice Tails in the cinematic universe. Not only does she play the character well, but she's just so wholesome too!

Not to be a hater cause I loved the movie, but tbh Colleen needs more practice with doing male impressions cause it was too obvious that Tails is voiced by a female. Nancy Cartwright for example can fool people with her Bart Simpson impression cause she does sound like a male on set, unlike Colleen O'Shaughnessey

She’s finally getting her big break. Nobody else can voice Tails but Colleen. It wouldn’t feel right if they casted a Celebrity especially that Tails has a very unique voice. While I really want Jason Griffith to reprise his role as Shadow for the third movie, I can see Paramount casting a big name celebrity like they did with Knuckles (voiced by Idris Elba)

@@liamphibia I wouldn’t agree. Keanu Reeves’s voice is sort of gravely that I don’t think it fits. And besides he already has a cameo and also referenced by Sonic himself saying “Keanu! You’re a national treasure”. So by doing that, I don’t think it’s possible. But the guy from Twilight, Robert Pattinson’s voice is uncanny and it fits perfectly for Shadow’s character

Colleen O'Shaughnessey nearly cried when she finally met Jim Carrey She went up to him to introduce herself, and assumed he didn't know who I was. She said, "Hi, I'm Colleen, I play Tails." He grabbed both of my hands, and bent over and went, "I know." "And it was so sweet. He had the sweetest smile on his face, and I was like, "I'm gonna cry." And I know he said something after that, and I'm sure I said things too, but I have no idea beyond that what either of us said." She stated.

For several games (Sonic Adventure 1 &2 come to mind) they did have boys voice Tails but they’d puberty out. Not the case with a female voice actress. And it’s not uncommon for voice actresses to portray young boys. Bart Simpson and Timmy Turner come to mind..
