Some people think all films are just meaningless, that they hold no purpose, that they are just momentary entertainment and escapism, but what those people don't seem to understand is that people like Alejandro and Leonardo exist, they have a real passion for their art, and that is what they do, they are artists, they are trying to express life itself, they have the power to save lives, to change lives, to affect people in such a way, even one small moment in one small perfected directed or acted scene can awaken a viewer to something in their reality that they had no real perspective of before. I say this from experience, and I truly don't believe I would be alive today if it wasn't for great films and great music made by people like this, people with integrity and passion, it has shaped who I am as a person and the way I see the world. RESPECT THE ART.

Eric Cartman I must say, Cartman is probably the last person I expected to hear from in regards to this topic. :P Yes, some films are definitely just made to be mindless entertainment, what I meant was that when you have really passionate people involved in the film, such as DiCaprio and Inarittu, it can become something more, something incredible, whether intentional or not. I just love coming across those types of films where you just know that the director put so much thought into every little snippet of footage, or that the writer spent months and months or ever years meticulously perfecting his script, it can be artwork at it's finest, and sometimes it needs to be recognized as that, instead of people internationally just thinking "Oh well, it's another movie, who cares."

Is this director serious? Bears eat people for food? That is EXTREMELY rare. The bear has to bd starving. Source: guy who has seen over 50 grizzlies, few hundred black bears. Grizzly bears are like "Yo you on my block sucka?! You tryina eat on my block?! Aww hell no, son. I don't play that." Good movie though.
@LulzRoyce8 жыл бұрын
+Mike Ansley Pretty sure you missed the whole point of what he was saying. A bear will kill as many humans as it sees fit if it feels they are endangering it's cubs.
@mikeansley53068 жыл бұрын
+LulzRoyce I'm pretty sure you missed the point. "This time (human beings) are the prey." Bears do not eat people for food. The only time that happens is if the bear is starving because it is too young, old or sick to catch anything besides people. And I have literally been between a mother black bear and her cubs and she did not attack. I have been near mother bears with cubs multiple times. I have watched mother grizzlies run away with their cubs at the first sign of people. People are not a food source for bears. Grizzlies are highly territorial. It is more likely they kill humans because they are protecting a kill or good feeding area.
@LulzRoyce8 жыл бұрын
Mike Ansley Yes, humans are the prey to wilderness - not to bears. The dude has broken english and you are picking apart what he is saying by the word, seriously? In today's world we safely sit in our heated homes with our McDonald's in our fat laps. Back then, humans were the prey to everything - cold, animals, other humans. He wasn't strictly referring to the bear shithead. Great movie, amazing director - dumbass comment.
@mikeansley53068 жыл бұрын
+LulzRoyce You are literally defending the director who grew up in a city with 40 million people. He has probably never seen a bear in the wild. He watched KZbin videos of bear attacks to film his bear scene. HE is the very person you describe eating McDonalds. My brother's father-in-law was nearly pulled out of a tree by an adult male grizzly because he ran past it while jogging. Territory. My father shot and killed a bear while he was packing out an elk after he killed it. Bear protecting food/territory. I know that bear's do eat people VERY RARELY because my brother is a Yukon helicopter pilot and has transported out several people killed by grizzlies. My family doctor lost his wife and had his face destroyed in a grizzly attack because they ignored the danger of being near a fresh kill. Please tell me something about bears. I live in the Rocky Mountains and I need more city people telling me about bears.
@mikeansley53068 жыл бұрын
+LulzRoyce Director's English is perfect. You're a prick for calling it "broken." He never misspoke once. He has an excellent grasp of relaying concepts. His language is much more advanced than the average English speaker.

Am I the only one who thinks The Revenant is overrated. Like, I feel that everything the film genuinely lacks, is just being glazed over and gets named art. For instance, the lack of dialogue, (yes silence can be a key to a grade-a-film-making scene), is way overused. How can silence be overused? I think it is somehow in The Revenant. Another example, the too-long nature shots. Yes, it's done with natural light, yes absorbing nature is beautiful but I felt like a full sponge that was drowning in over-use. I must be the only who thinks this movie is average. I can't find anyone who agrees with me. Don't get me wrong, it is still a movie needed to be seen in theaters. The acting is incredible, just superb. I'm not sure every aspect was yielded to it's highest extent though. It just lacks somehow. It's strange.

We don’t have first lands in Mexico because as opposed to the USA or Canada most of the population is mixed, there’s no specific land for First Nations because we are mostly mixed we are not told to stay in one area of land we are free to live anywhere in the country if anything First Nations in Mexico have the right to live according to their ways but they didn’t become captive in their own land “friend”
