This video made it so much easier than what some of the others showcased. Thanks!

@ScreenSurgeons Cool, thanks..lets hope its just the connection that is loose and not a snapped cable.

@deepikar78 I would check the video cable connection first and then try replacing the screen.

Hi, Thank you for that video! I am wondering if all the Studio 1558 laptops have the same screen? is there a difference between LCD and LED? I would appreciate it if you could respond please. Thank you.

Hey man, good video. I plan to use your instructions but 1st my question: My screen has several vertical lines from top to bottom: A couple of those on the very left of the screen and 2 or 3 about 2 inches from the left. They appear in different colors but most of those are white (means no video on the line). If I twist the whole screen (grabbing the top screen corners, pull the right and push the left), all lines gone. So screen is good but seems to be a video connection issue. Any suggestion?

i followed your tutorial perfectly and it was very helpful but when i booted up my computer after replacing the screen the entire thing was tinted blue and the words/pictures were very pixelated. What do I need to do to fix this?

@marios93g Sorry, we don't do these kinds of upgrades. I would be worried about causing damage to the motherboard or components if doing this.

Hi.. I dont see anything on the LCS screen except a white hazy circle. Is it because the LCD screen is faulty? Previously I used to plug in anything like a handkerchief or something in the gap between bezel and rest of the laptop, and with such an arrangement i used the screen for about 4 months. Do you think I have ripped up the cable but LCD screen can be working fine? How do I replace the video cable?

@ScreenSurgeons, I have a Dell Studio 1558. I've had it for almost a year. I thougt my computer kept freezeing up within the last month. It turns out that it is my screen that freezes and then slowly fades. I can push the bottom of the screen and it will start back working and then it will do it again. I took the screen out yesterday and I don't know if it is something in the board on the green electronc board on the back of the screen of the screen it self. Do you know by any chance? thanks

@marios93g the maximum capability of this laptop is 8GB RAM DDR3 (i assume DDR3 is the maximum this laptop caps at) when looking for a laptop's RAM, make sure it is not meant for a desktop, recognizing one is fair easy, unlike desktop's RAM card's which are long and thin, laptops RAM cards are Fat and Small all laptops use the same kind of RAM type as like all Desktops use the same RAM type. so when searching for a RAM just search for ANY LAPTOP's ram and you will be good and set to go! :)

Hi Screen Surgeon I enjoyed your video about replacing the screen, my laptop has been playing up a bit so I may have to replace it some time in the future. I am going to buy three pc for xmas presents for my two daughters and wife. I saw a Seismo i3 package for £399.00 each on dinopc.com, is this a good deal or should I stay clear, if it is stay clear, can you suggest what and where to buy, I have a budget of £400 for each computer. Many thanks. Hope to hear from you soon.

@marios93g You can't change the Graphics Chips in most laptops, they're integrated into the motherboard. If you wanted something for gaming you should have built a PC lol.

Hahaha "nice laptop"...it's sooo poorly designed, I've only had it for 3 years and it's falling apart more with every passing month.
