I have David's solo album called 'If I Could Only Remember My Name' as the same as this documentary..I think that album was one of his greatest work..I listened to that album almost everyday as a young teenager in the early 70's..Great voice he has, and that album has great songs I can never forget...I now have it on CD and still play it now and then..So glad there's the documentary on David, sure love to see it soon.

I agree with you"If I Could Only Remember My Name" is truly one of the lost treasures of recorded music. So many beautiful songs; some of the most beautiful I have ever heard in my 60 year life. Jerry Garcia played guitar on many of the songs. To those who have never heard this album do yourself a big favor and give it a listen. David is always so interesting. He will talk very openly and honest. Thank you David for your blessed musical gift to us all.

Completely agree. And it's got Jerry Garica, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young jamming together along with Jack Cassady and other members of the Airplane and the Dead, Michael Shrieve from Santana, etc. An all-star album. Incredible songs. Beautiful production.

I'm reading David's 1st book I believe; Long Time Gone. Written from a number of perspectives, not just David's. What a complete history lesson on many things. Not just CSN, Byrds, or CSNY. I can't put it down. I love it. Read it.

I was in the Prison Band with David as well as mentioned in his book "Long time Gone". He was amazed that someone Black knew his music better than anyone else. I can remember sitting at the drums one day just messing with different rhythm patterns when he got on the piano and started tinkering around with what would later become the tune Compass.

AJ's dad, Steve Eaton, was a good friend of mine back in the 80s in Idaho. Steve is a great musician in his own right. The last time I saw AJ and his brother Marcus (who btw scored this movie) they were little boys. AJ hadn't even started school yet I believe. Look at him now. Good on you lad.

I recall 30 years ago some hack music paper called " Spin magazine," gave David Crosby less than a year. It was bad for him, but he bounced back. Maybe it is just time for CSNY to call it a day. But Croz here is on top of his game, and...very humble.

Good dude. Saw him with Nash in 69, in Montréal. I enjoyed, not sure they were impressed with the coughing audience. Was a street kid at the time and was able to get into the show. The gal who was sitting beside me thought I was a cat and wouldn’t stop petting me. Should of had some of what ever she had.

Why don’t the Byrds ever get mentioned when it comes to David Crosby? That band was a big part of his life but no mention of it ever in these interviews. In my estimation, the Byrds were a far more important band than CSNY ever was

Maybe because people generally think he had less to do with them creatively? I'm not sure, whenever I hear about the Byrds in general I only hear about Crosby as an afterthought. At least that's the impression I get

Christian Unger Yes, Crosby was considered a junior partner in the Byrds with Roger McGuinn and Gene Clark being the main song writers, but Crosby was a very crucial part of the band’s harmonic sound which distinguished them as an elite musical force. Crosby is selling himself short by just ignoring that part of his career

As of viewing this 40 minute interview and the comments made by Crosby and his “Total disrespect of Our President and Country” he is even more rude and ignorant than in his former exit from Crosby, Stills, Nash. And the Birds was another great band that he could not make it with.The documentary is a waste of talent of both the director and writer who are so much more talented than to be in the company of him. He brags about his 4 albums and how he wants to change the world yet has no earthly clue about life and kindness, much less how to “Unite Our Nation”. He tried several times to belittle Cameron Crowe. No one in the music industry is more arrogant and it is no wonder so many different bands could no tolerate him. I truly feel sorry for him.

Pure folly to think CSN&Y reforming to sing Ohio is a contemporary political necessity. At best it's lazy nostalgia. Cocaine, guns and jail aren't exemplars of democracy. They are the consequences of addiction rather than the ideals of care for others or environmental activism. I doubt the musicians he is currently playing with are helping him keep up but perhaps are a stark reminder of how "Wasted on the Way" he was. IOICRMN is one of my favourite albums but Nash has become a parody of himself. Stills made some exceptional solo albums but Neil Young is the person who has continually evolved as a writer and guitar player. Daylight Again is an album that reminds me of how these guys are still musically in the Dark Ages and how much they fumble in the dark ages now needing an audience more than they they can offer as artists. Who are they going to support. The Stones?😂😂😂😂 The lyrical depth of two cats in the yard has little meaningless drivel like connection today.

Daylight Again is a 36 year old album so it's hard to be too relevant with that review concerning this interview. Look I remember when his dumbass was strung out on crack and in jail and "fertilizing" other musician's eggs and then writing his stupid ass book capitalizing on his wasted years but even all that's, what, 20 years ago? Give the dog his day. He's definitely a cat with nine lives, got his proverbial shit together and is writing again and making good music. Neil's recent "evolution" has not been impressive. Promise of the Real ? Love me some Willie Nelson's son...seems like a great dude. But the best you can say about it is that it's "fun"...but it's watered down Crazy Horse and even some of CH's last stuff with NY was dilute. You can only get so far with crunchy guitar, Neil.
