And this 63 year old who, to be honest, was always a little in awe of the "hippy" culture. I WANTED to be that hopeful, but never found that road. I did, however, end up fighting my way clear of my worst enemy (which turned out to be me). Guess the "hippies" had a point after all! Lol.

61 yrs. old here and also remember those days, IMO we had the best music ever back then and im so glad to see the internet bringing it back to be rediscovered - there will never be another music era like it again. I feel blessed to have been there when all this was on the radio every day, not what passes for talent today in many circles.

I'm 63 yr. old never been a Hippie. I didn't appreciate this group until I became older. The woman in the drape was Mama Cass. She was a true talent. She passed away a couple years after this video. She went solo but unfortunately it wasn't for long. I believe only the thin lizzy chic is still alive. Not family members. Lovers, but not family. They have a song called " Creeque Alley". It has a vibe as you would say. Maybe check it out for yourself if you haven't heard it yet. I thought it was their best. It will have references to individuals you won't be familiar with but the song flows. I tripped over you and saw you were doing reactions of Steely Dan. That's my heaven. 1973 heard "My Old School" and been on them since. I like your style. Never, Never, Never do I tire of your intro. I danced in the clubs to "Ring My Bell". Only people who didn't like Disco was those who didn't play the game. Oooh baby !, that was fun. I wish you the best in your career. I know somewhere, somehow, you'll be somebody everyone knows. ☮️

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Scribe! Great reaction! This band has a lot of personal drama. Mama Cass Elliot wasn't allowed to join the band originally because of her weight. Mama Cass was in love with Denny Doherty but he wasn't into her as a romantic partner. Denny was having an affair with Michelle Phillips, who believed in open relationships even though she was married to John Phillips! Michelle had another affair with Gene Clark of a band called The Byrds and John kicked her out of The Mama's and The Papa's but he eventually rehired her for the second album. Mama Cass had a solo project on the side, the band was drinking and doing drugs besides other stuff. John and Michelle had a daughter who's a singer, Chynna Phillips, and John has two daughters, Mackenzie and Bijou Phillips. Mackenzie starred in "One Day At A Time" a TV series back in the 70's and she was hooked on drugs and alcohol and almost OD'ed twice. According to her biography when she was 11 she snorted cocaine with her dad, and when she was 19 she woke up and found herself having sex with her father. When she asked him why he raped her he corrected her saying they made love and then went on to have a consensual sexual relationship with her father, which was like Stockholm Syndrome where hostages bond with their captors! She ended up getting pregnant and had an abortion that her father paid for and then they stopped having sex. When Bijou's parents split up both were found unfit to care for a child so the court put her in foster care! Eventually her dad got custody when she was in 3rd grade out on Long Island. When Bijou was 13 Mackenzie told Bijou about the 10 year incest relationship she had with their father so Bijou got an apartment on 5th Avenue with a maid and started drinking and doing drugs and clubbing! This family puts the fun in dysfunctional! You don't have to kill someone to mess them up for life!
