LOVE THIS! Thanks! Since you cut with the different colors, can you show how you actually cut those? Do you run it through twice? Do you have different cut settings for each color? How does that work? Love your stickers and so glad your shop is doing so well! You deserve it!

When you are using the offset feature, I found a trick that I like to use. With something you want to have a close cut line around, i.e. script stickers, those little bits that show up within the letters that you don’t want the Silhouette to cut, you can just use the eraser tool on the left side panel and erase those little bits. What’s even better about the eraser tool is you can adjust the size of the eraser so it can get even the littlest lines that you might not see at first. Once all those little bits are erased, you can now just duplicate your project so you can pretty stickers hehe. Also, another thing I found recently that I am loving, when you’re in the transform panel and you want to turn something 90 degrees or 180 degrees, go the third tab on the top with the arrow shaped as a circle, and as long as you have whatever highlighted you can press the 90 degree or 180 degree button and it will rotate it perfectly for you. This has saved me so much time and frustration so I hope this helps.

Awesome tips! Like I said, I’m extremely new to designing stickers but I’ve found little things that work. Hopefully over time I’ll learn what every panel does 😂

Stephanie Schlehuber Instead of using the eraser tool an easier way is to release the compound path and delete the little bits.

Sara Marie, it’s just the little things that have been passed down from one creator to another that help and save time, ya know. I love helping and having a space where you can figure things out and not feel like you’re a dummy because you didn’t know. If you don’t know , you don’t know haha. I know there were times I wanted to throw the Silhouette software across the room because I couldn’t figure it out but to my surprise there’s a setting for that....haha.

Julie-Ann Jemmott, I was going to tell her that but I figured since she’s relatively new to the process that might have confused her a little, I know I was haha

Julie-Ann Jemmott that’s what I do to remove the little bits and pieces.

Thank you so much. I just got a Silhouette and have struggled so much. This will help.
@caitlinlorea9125 жыл бұрын
One thing you can do will be to release the compound path by right clicking on the offset and then all those little sections become separate and you can delete them. This makes it so your offset can be smaller if you want it to be.

Hey Sara, super helpful video! I honestly found it great, that you didn't know/use the actual terminology. As a newbie, I could follow along easier that way. I have been watching a lot of different creators and tutorials, but like you said, these ladies go so fast, it is hard to follow. I'd love to see more content a la DIY, if time allows ;)

Also, how do you figure out the sizing for your scripts? I feel like this will be a lot of trail and error?

It should be different settings because the red should be a kiss cut and the purple should be a regular cut.

the weld tool links your script letters together so when it cuts, it doesn't cut all of the letters seperately. 😊 hope that helps.

Great tutorial, thanks Sara. I have a Cricut, so the programme will be different, but hopefully I’ll work it out with a similar technique. The only thing I don’t think the Cricut does is cut 2 different lines (a shallow one around the text and a deeper cut to cut it from the sheet).

Hi. You probably found out what the weld does by now but if you haven't you can try this: Weld you're letters BEFORE you add the color and you'll see what it does. Thanks for the tips - great video!

If you want the cut lines to be more closer to the script you can do so and just delete the holes in the middle. So after you are good with the offset. You can select the outline and right click and tick on the “Make Compound Path” that way you the inner cuts will be separate. Although I may be confused and it can be the “Release Compound Path” but bottomline it has something to do with the compound path :) sorry I don’t have my laptop with me as of the moment but yeah. Hope this helps :)

Once the middle holes are separate you can just delete them afterwards :)

Can't answer for her shop, but artwork/licensing is available to purchase on etsy. And you just size everything to an EC or HP whichever planner you want to design for.
