Scripting 101 for Apple Admins

On the surface, scripting appears to involve a lot of mysterious incantations requiring a PhD in Computer Science and a genius IQ. But even knowing just a handful of commands can take your effectiveness as an Apple administrator through the roof.

When I type the commands into Terminal they work fine, but if I drag the Bash file into Terminal, I get a "Permission denied". I opened the Get Info and turned on all permissions ON for both the file and the folder, but it still didn't work. What am I doing wrong?

you must be runnning a lower provision account

you need to make sure the file has the eXecute permission. In terminal, do "chmod +x" and then the path to your file. Hit enter, then try to run the bash file from Terminal again.
