Watching your left hand on 0.25x speed taught me a lot about voice leading.💫

Great! I'm happy you're learning! Mostly, I'm playing "bass shells" when I'm accompanying a solo in the right hand.

I don't know if you monitor this channel, Jeremy, but I would recommend strongly that you somehow commend the channel to non-pianists and non-jazz players. I play guitar and sing, but also play solos over bluegrass, blues and folk songs (alone and in groups). I have found so much in your channel. This particular post pretty much reflects the way I practice soloing, and also demonstrates how to add structure to solos in performance. In fairness, I have played jazz in the past and understand the language, but this is definitely NOT just for jazzers and pianists. Much better than a lot of the guitar specific stuff out there. THANK YOU!

Great to know, Robert! I do hear comments form non-pianists every now and then. I'll let the algorithm do the rest.

Jeremy, you reference your (great) books in every video. It will be really helpful if your videos/lessons could be organized into playlists that reference your four books. If I may, your channel (regardless of its great content) is lacking it. Many other jazz KZbin channels devoted to jazz (such as Kent Hewitt’s channel, for example) have good playlists. Your channel is, shall I say, more spontaneous 😊 Thank you, Michael

There are many useful ideas in this video about 4 different methods for scripting a solo. I had not thought about the guide tone method before. Mon film préféré est: La Vie en Rose. ;)
