This was during the union with Jamaica. Rap started as protest chants in the streets. The UK and Spain were at war over Jamaica in 1655. Up until then, Jamaica were under Spanish ownership. So, rap actually goes way back. But that's how it started. Then over time, rap became an American thing through migration from Jamaica. So, to say hip-hop is a race thing makes you sound incredibly ignorant and uneducated.

I think you may have misunderstood scru’s point on the raps origin thing. I don’t think he was saying that raps origin is exclusively from Africa and Jamaica but rather it was created with much of those influences. Nothing you said was wrong though, can’t forget about Latino and Hispanic influences too along with cultural aspects that have just developed over time. Neither artist is a guest to hip hop, great review🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥

So I'm pretty sure Crypt, Scru, and Qudeca (I'm pretty sure I misspelled his name, sorry) had a song called "The 4 Horsemen" but it was about Dax and how he basically screwed everyone over (in particular Crypt). I think the events Knox is talking about happened right after this. I don't know the full story, hell at this point it's just a theory, but I think Scru asked Crypt for money so he could fly back. Plane tickets are expensive af. Crypt has also talked about paying for verses and never getting them or getting very sub-par quality but he usually doesn't mention any names out of respect.

I quit following Scru after his second Ren reaction. It was obvious that he was literally looking for things to dislike under the guise of "not pandering." The things he complained about weren't even legit. I've seen legit criticisms of Ren based on opinion and personal preference that I can disagree with and still respect the reactor, but Scru's felt intentionally salty for the sake of being salty. I hadn't paid much attention to him before then, just casually watched some reactions, but I went back a bit in his catalog after that and realized that he really is a total hypocrite. Says one thing, does another. Does the same things he calls others out for. And his attack on Shaq was just uncalled for. Shaq has done so much for his community in his hometown and nobody even knew it until he felt like he had to defend himself from Scru. That shows he wasn't doing it for the clout. He's a real one. This whole thing just re-affirms my decision to unfollow Scru.
