This was during the union with Jamaica. Rap started as protest chants in the streets. The UK and Spain were at war over Jamaica in 1655. Up until then, Jamaica were under Spanish ownership. So, rap actually goes way back. But that's how it started. Then over time, rap became an American thing through migration from Jamaica. So, to say hip-hop is a race thing makes you sound incredibly ignorant and uneducated.

So I'm pretty sure Crypt, Scru, and Qudeca (I'm pretty sure I misspelled his name, sorry) had a song called "The 4 Horsemen" but it was about Dax and how he basically screwed everyone over (in particular Crypt). I think the events Knox is talking about happened right after this. I don't know the full story, hell at this point it's just a theory, but I think Scru asked Crypt for money so he could fly back. I think you may have misunderstood scru’s point on the raps origin thing. I don’t think he was saying that raps origin is exclusively from Africa and Jamaica but rather it was created with much of those influences. Nothing you said was wrong though, can’t forget about Latino and Hispanic influences too along with cultural aspects that have just developed over time.
