Boeing's Starliner capsule was scheduled to launch astronauts for the first time ever on May 6. A scrub was called about T-2 hours before launch.
Astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and pilot Suni Williams will be the first NASA crew to fly to space aboard Boeing Starliner. Their mission, known as Crew Flight Test, will run for about a week at the International Space Station (ISS) to certify Starliner for future missions to last six months or so.

It was with the valve on the rocket. Not starliner it self. People just want to complain.

It was a valve on ULA rocket. Not starliner. Get the facts straight.

If this spacecraft is built by Boeing, they need to do more than a week delay and check everything, floor, ceiling, door, just everything.

Can you imagine if this was the rocket used to return astronauts from Mars. It would have been sitting there in Martian orbit for at least A YEAR. What are the chances that it would work? What are the chances that the liquid oxygen and even more so the liquid hydrogen had leaked away?

This wasn't a Boeing issue because they don't make the rocket. It is made by Lockheed Martin and the valve is their responsibility.

Boeing 737 Max! Need I say more??? Okay... I say more: If you can't even make a safe airplane to fly in the stratosphere, there is NOT much confidence in your launching a capsule with astronauts to space! "rocket valve issue"? Sounds like the "o-rings issue" on the Challenger space shuttle that killed all seven crew members aboard back in 1986.

Boeing… We delayed the launch of our Starliner because we discovered door bolts in a worker’s toolbox.

No more last-minute launch failure. No more launch delay, No more cost-overrun. This suggestion is gonna work. In addition, it is the most cost effective alternative - that is NASA should team up with China CNSA to return to the Moon.

To all the commenters: the valve problem was on the Centaur upper stage, not the Starliner spacecraft. So this was ULA's problem, not Boeing's. Also, the launch was scrubbed out of an abundance of caution--they would have simply gone ahead and flown if this was an unmanned launch. So Boeing is doing exactly what y'all want it to do in this situation, with human safety.
@jerrylevin2536
@jerrylevin2536 5 күн бұрын
Now the launch again is delayed again to May 24th because of a helium tank on the Starliner. Do you really believe this started with the bogus valve problem. Coverup! I predict the launch will not occur for months due to ongoing problems.
