Shawn man we have the same taste in mods😁 Im supprised you havent tried your hand in molding yet. You thinking about it? Or are you content with your awesome 3D printers?

@@ScruffyLookinRGB I recently bought some uv resin and glow powder and started playing around with it. I need to get some silicone though so I can make my own molds. I really want to incorporate my resin 3d printer so I can make really detailed small parts and recast into much stronger materials. I have a small pile of electronics with broken gears that really need replacement parts.

That sounds like a great plan👍 Id love to get my hands on a 3d printer just havent got the space for it right now. I hope you put some up here for us to see.

I don’t know if I will use this method but I’m planning a resin project (not for a console but maybe at some point lol) and this one is definitely a contender. Thanks for making it!

Im glad it was useful for you. There is a lot to learn with molding and casting. Keep at it and you will get there👍👍👍

You make it look so easy dude. I'd love to give this a go to custom up some Dreamcast controllers. Everytime I've gone online to look at resins and silicon though there's such a range that I don't know what I'm looking at 😂 Might just have to buy some bits to do tests with first, would like to try this with some Gundam kit parts too.
@ScruffyLookinRGB4 жыл бұрын
Ryoma0045 you definitely should since you are also into gundam modeling. You can do so much when you can recreate your own parts. Dream cast buttons would be cool since i dont see a lot of people making thoese. If you need help ask me or check out any of the channels i gave a shout out to very good content i learned a lot from them.

I am not planning on doing this for now. But really interesting video for me! I work as a service tech for injection molding machines....

Jan that is very cool id love to get an injection molding machine. Hope you try making your molds some day its very satisfying👍

First time I have stumbled across silicon molds and resin injection, that was incredible and so cool. I would be more interested in transparent controller or console shells and that's too hard to try. And everytime I take something apart to clean it, I just break it. So I don't trust myself with a screwdriver sadly. But transparent consoles are my favorites.

David thank you for the kind words and suggestions. Molding is a long process but the rewards ard well worth the effort. I will be making some controller shells and possibly console shells in the future. Happy molding my friend.

Amazing, so this is a one time hit with making these types of cast rather than the other material that you can reshape an use again. I'm guessing this gives a much longer lasting setup and cleaner result.
@ScruffyLookinRGB3 жыл бұрын
You guessed right i highly recommend this method as it is much more precise and you get quick results. And dont have to worry about mold deterioration so soon.

What you think of making a phone case i would like to try this. This video gave a very good direction on how to procede.. I got the lg wing and cases can not be found anywhere
@ScruffyLookinRGB4 жыл бұрын
You can make almost anything if you know how to make a mold of it. Cellphone cases seem pretty simple. I wish you luck my man! Let me know how it turns out.

Just want to say i made my second half of phone case and going to try the injection. Your video helps out in so many ways. Question... When i do try the injection is it a for sure that ita going to cover the silicone mold? I just didnt want it so tight to get in there.
@ScruffyLookinRGB4 жыл бұрын
Im glad to hear it. Not sure what you mean by your question. If you mean when injecting the resin into the mold the seal is so tight you have a hard time injecting? You can release the pressure some by boring some more injection points.that way the air has more ways to escape and should release some of the pressure when trying to inject resin. Hope that helped you out. Good luck👍
