That's really cool, but what I want to know is if it's possible to change the set of coordinates that the Pikmin use for the different logos, essentially allowing you to draw whatever you want on the title screen using the Pikmin.
@ScruffyMusic8 жыл бұрын
+Scatterbrain In the same package as the "param" folder is a "logo" folder, which holds three files defining the coordinates for Pikmin in the Pikmin 2 logo (Japanese and otherwise) and Nintendo. The file is just a bunch of numbers representing X and Y coordinates, so in theory you just have to change them to redraw the logo. But it would take a lot of patience.

I wish I could figure out what they did to the Pikmin AI between 2 and 3, I’m not a fan of how every army in 3 trails like a snake and has weird jittery movements among the Pikmin instead of a single unit with no jittery movements like the original 2.

I'd guess that pk04 "taste" controls how many pikmin (maximum) can be eaten by each bite the Bulborb takes, since it defaults to 5 and that is the normal number that can be eaten, or the location relative to the bulborb that get eaten. since neither of those seem to be covered by any other variable. Distance proportional speed factor is probably some distance that the pikmin need to achieve to just snap into the correct coordinates since floating points will rarely exactly equal the location they need to get to, and they don't want the pikmin just running in circles. It's probably also effected by their speed.
@samusmustacheyouaquestion63755 жыл бұрын

Well let me be the first to tell you, if you're going to play any game in the series, play this one. Pikmin 1 is very limited, both in time in in what you can do. Pikmin 2 is much more open in all regards, plus there's a 2-player mode. Pikmin 3 can actually be unfairly punishing at times, wonky and somewhat disappointing, especially towards the end. However. If you do choose 1 I recommend the original, Gamecube version over the remade Wii version. And if you choose 3, I'll tell you right now: your job is to make juice, but a few days in someone comes and steals everything you've got, so don't do more than you absolutely have to to progress until that happens. Dumb, I know, but it's less frustrating than being robbed of all your progress after doing so much, so well.

I think “convergence distance” controls how far away Pikmin convene to form a new logo
@TheAnimationStationTAS5 жыл бұрын
I'm just going to make a random assumption here about PK12 and PK03 So with PK12 i'd assume that if all pikmin walked at the exact same speed they would't make it back to the title on time in sync, so depending on their distance they'll either go slower or faster, I don't know, And with PK03, based on the fact its called convergence, I guess its supposed to be the amount of distance they travel before stopping or something, cause Convergence in math involves a number that goes to a defined number (or something similar, I can't remember) But I have no idea what i'm talking about so nobody quote me on this please EDIT : I'm going to look more into PK04/Tsurukogane, which After a google translation I found out its two separate words, so then I went to a translation sight, and Tsuru means to Catch/Lure In/Attract/Entice ETC. , and Kogane translates to either gold or small sum of money, so maybe it has something to do with the iridescent flint beetle.
