The first week, the SM should be in observation mode and learning mode. The expectation is such that before making any proposed changes the SM should be building relationship and learning about the team and how they currently function. I would not expect this to be a one week. My expectation would be a minimum of 2 sprints of observation and learning.

Thanks for explaining , I am looking to learn about how scrum master gain profit by influencing scrum in terms of ROI, means how organizations benefitted in terms of ROI thru scrum and hiring scrum master :)

Very cool. I am looking forward to your discovery. For me, I learn that a Scrum Master is like a coach and a doctor. It may be hard to connect the dot but you can see it, especially in companies that have them and those that does not. Example is Scrum enable the faster feedback in providing the team the right direction. So the team will not be working on a project for 2 years to find out that it is not what is needed. It saves the company money and allows them to invest and take risk based on empirical data. It is like finding out that the coffee is too hot after you drink all the coffee in one big gulp instead of taking small sips to test the temperature.

I agree with you @MasterAsisnKhor I use the consumption model but after the team says it's full I do then show historical velocity. I don't offer an opinion as the SM on points taken in but the team can see the data and talk amongst themselves if needed. Always fist of five at that point :-)

How about Grooming meeting, its generally a PO led meeting but how should the SM participate?

Derek, we discussed grooming in refinement. You uncovered a great point that we didn't cover- the various names for that event. It should be PO led; however, the SM facilitates the conversation when discussing the stories, checks if the team is getting too far into the weeds, and protecting timeboxes, if they are used by the team. The SM can also lead the Planning Poker game; specifically, the SM asks the questions when there is disagreement on an estimated size. When we train new scrum teams, we dedicate a whole session to Backlog Refinement/Grooming. Its such an important event, and it is so susceptible to coming off the rails so easily.
