Excellent presentation! just don't forget to constantly monitor your SPG gauge while on your dive and you should call the dive at 500 psi so you will have plenty of air for a 3 min. 15' safety stop. And of course, to wash your gear completely with fresh water ( warm if possible ) after your done. Iv'e been diving since 1969 and have been a NAUI/PADI and L.A County Instructor and I want to say that you did a great refresher presentation!

NO No Jake, no slagging another operators on public comment, that you take care of with the dive shop you trained with. Keep in mind a refresher course is meant to realign you with the skills you are supposed to know as a certified diver not a retraining course. Clearly you did not get what you expected from your refresher course and that could only happen if you did not know what it was you were going to receive in exchange for your money. Unfortunately that is on you friend. If you like this mans videos just say GOOD JOB and keep the other stuff between you and your training facility that is the professional and right way to do it.
@jakeallgeier45033 жыл бұрын
@@omegadivingacademy7937 I don't see the harm in contrasting this video's content with a personal experience of my own. It isn't like I'm even naming the operator in question. Discussion and comparison of training in an open forum should not be censored IMO. My point is that this video provided a superior overview of openwater skills, many of which were not mentioned during my "refresher."
@omegadivingacademy79373 жыл бұрын
@@jakeallgeier4503 Again I say you never knew what you were paying for or you would have been happy with what you received. No censorship here just go back there and if you are not happy tell them and give them the chance to make you a happy customer. Now I was trying to be nice redirecting you to where you received the product you believe to be inferior. The point is not who the organisation was it is the attitude you are carrying though this. Grumbling about them if you feel you were short changed sort the issue out with them until you are happy not here. To boot you totally ignored the point I made, you paid for something without knowing the content, that is on you. Plus the comparison to this video is apples and pears comparison since it is focused on how to do the skills not retraining. These skills should have been ingrained in you from your first course and as previously stated a refresher is the chance to REFRESH your knowledge with the training experts present which is probably what you paid for. Furthermore read down the comments page and you will see no one else grumbling just appreciating the guys work.

I really appreciate this video! I've watched it twice this week as part of my prep for my scuba refresher course. I haven't been able to dive since August 2020, for a number of reasons, after only having 3 dives beyond my OW certification, and I've been so nervous that I've forgotten everything prior to the refresher (and could panic or embarrass myself). this is a great refresher. I'm going back to do Scuba again soon I hope, so I needed this to get back into the swing of it. I really enjoyed the video and also really enjoyed actually learning these in person. Btw the free flowing part was so weird to me I was like wow I cant believe its this easy to breath still lol.
@MarcelVanDenBerg12 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked it! Yes I thought the same the fist time I tried out the free flowing regulator, so easy to breathe from it :)

Great refresher: one note though, I think it's way less awkward if each person breathes and orally inflates their own thing. Like you can take turns: one buddy tells the other what to do and supervises them, then swap

Great video. Suggestion: Dont put hand in front of valve when testing on and off. High pressure air can be dangerous to skin.

I gave my subscription and my like, however I don't know if one day I'll dare to dive in. There is a lot of information, and I don't know if at my age it is wise to do so, although I am good at swimming, diving makes me nervous.

On the surface ,removing the weight belt you want to lean forward ( use regulator or snorkel ) look down to orientate the buckle to the strap , if you lay on your back the weights will pull away from you
@MarcelVanDenBerg12 жыл бұрын
That is also a great way of performing this skill!
