Thanks for this review! Could you please do a review of the Fenix 8 Garmin next?

You bring up a good point. Cars now come with Key Fob. How do you protect it from Damage or Theft while Diving? I have been fortunate to dive places where families were nearby.
@ScubaDiverMagazine3 ай бұрын
There are a few rigid canisters you can bring down with you like DryFob. I usually pop it inside my drysuit to tempt fate. With keyless-start fobs you can't pop them in a tow-hitch lock unless it blocks signals. I have a Faraday Pouch that I can pop the electronic part into the glove box and use the metal key to lock the doors and bring that down with me.

Hello, I bought a scubapro definition 5mm wetsuit several years ago. From this experience I will never buy a back zip suit from any manufacturer. From the first dive I have never once been able to zip it up or down myself. Every time I have to ask someone to help me. I am going to replace it with the new Waterproof W8 5mm suit that has a front zip.
@MysticalDragon733 ай бұрын
I've never understood to backzip craze. Especially since I've lost some dexterity as I've gotten older. Back zip is just so much more difficult. I don't want to have to rely on someone else when prepping for a dive

Hi Mark, how accurate do you believe this Class B rating is? I often wonder. Apeks thermiq adv 8/7 semi-dry carries the same rating, I believe, but I know several people who dive it down to about 6° or 7° C.
@daviddean153 ай бұрын
Totally agree with you
@scubacro57583 ай бұрын
@@TankVgryazi It all depends on you, I was diving in 7mm two peace in 7°c and it was very cold, I like having drysuit for everything under 17°c, I have friend that is compleatly ok in 12° with 7mm wetsuit. Try diving in multiple suits if you can, but for 6° - 7° you really should have drysuit its much better

how about Yulex 2mm? how's that compared to usual neoprene in terms on bouyancy?
@ScubaDiverMagazine2 ай бұрын
Yulex is often more buoyant than traditional neoprene. You won't notice much of a difference with thinner suits but, be prepared to add some extra lead, especially if you're replacing an old 3mm suit.

Interesting! By the way what size are you? M and 90kg? I am asking Because I have scubapro definition 7mm and I am 90kg and I can fit inside anymore 😢
@ScubaDiverMagazine2 ай бұрын
Yeah I'm around 90kg but I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm a size Large now and probably an Extra Large after Xmas.

@@ScubaDiverMagazine after Christmas holidays 😀, hahaha! I understand you well! On this video, what size suit you use? I asking because I want to order but I am thinking between M or LS size
@ScubaDiverMagazine2 ай бұрын
I've also been stress-eating with two kids under two years old but, I'm used to my wetsuits shrinking every Xmas season. That suit was a Large and felt good once it was on. Scubapro has a good Find Your Size recommender on their website and the stretchy neoprene does compensate for small variations. See if there's a Scubapro dealer near you where you can try one on.

Hello, great and informative video. Could you perhaps also make a video about the Mares Flexa 5/4 or comment your opinion on this wetsuit? Thank you very much!
@ScubaDiverMagazine3 ай бұрын
I like the Flexa, it has lots of clever features. I've had Mares wetsuits before and they're well constructed
@whaleshark26253 ай бұрын
Is it any different in design/panel shapes compared to the previous regular neoprene Everflex?
@ScubaDiverMagazine3 ай бұрын
Similar to the past one or two generations of the Everflex with that big chest and ab panel but, the zipper is straight down the back instead of diagonal.
@whaleshark26253 ай бұрын
@@ScubaDiverMagazine thanks Mark! It was a bit too tight in the chest for me versus the Henderson so I think I'll stick where I am.

The ratings must be off lol I’m in a 7mm semi dry in 75+ drysuit for anything colder

Yeah, I usually default to a drysuit in those temperatures.

#AskMark Can you do a review video on Halcyon BCD’s and/or alternative options? Have you already done a video like that?
@ScubaDiverMagazine3 ай бұрын
Halcyon are a decent well-trusted brand, they can be expensive but, they do have excellent build-quality and materials. There are plenty of alternatives and similar buoyancy options out there.

Anything below 20 feels very drysuit to me.... I have never understood wetsuit warmth ratings.
@justins64583 ай бұрын
@@PirateDM I often dive in water as cold as 7c in a 7 mm suit I find the ratings useful.

Drysuit is my default. No post-dive fuss and an extra way to adjust buoyancy
