I have to say that right thumbstick drift is probably a PS5 issue in general, only because I have 3 OEM controllers from Sony, have had the PS5 for 2 years now and because of my playstyle, doing either what they call Puppeteer/Tactical set up, I use the R3 more often to duck and slide. After awhile the right them stick seams to have a drift problem, where I can't accurately aim anymore, nor in MW2 for example do tuning because it moves where it wants left or right. DualSense Edge is going to make money on those replaceable analogs that's for sure.

I have 3 dualsense and I use r3 to jump on cod. maybe igot lucky but none have strick drift. With that said I had stick drift on every ps4 controller I had and I know it's still a big issue. If you haven't heard about them I recommend checking out hall effect thumbsticks from hypr.

You’re definitely being paid for by scuff. I’ve bought 2 scuff controllers and returned both for refunds. I’m trying battle beaver now but scuff is definitely not worth it.

I’ve had several issues with the joycons from aimcontrollers which sucked because I really enjoyed the controller. However, the scuf controller is better in nearly every single aspect and I’ve had zero issues. Stop being a Stan man. There’s a reason they’re partnered with numerous pro gaming companies. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not because they make bad quality products.

I've had the Scuf fps ps5 controller for over a year now. No issues to report as of yet. Solid controller in my personal experience. My biggest con is how over long periods of play time it gives me forearm pain and cramps up my right thumb. I do use Kontrol Freeks as well but it still can get uncomfortable. It is very comfortable to hold nonetheless.

@@mazazoomzoom8838it doesn’t matter how well you “take care of” your controller, it will develop stick drift in less than a year with moderate use no matter what you do. The quality control of these bigger controller companies is awful as they can come out of the box with drift and be fragile overall. I’ve had both bumpers of my current controller come out AFTER both were fixed. They’re all scumbags that refuse to invest in innovation or actual quality because planned obsolescence makes for a great business model.

I much prefer the lower thumbstick tension of the Hex because it's more comparable to the old Dualshock 3. Unfortunately for me Hex aren't shipping to the UK...

You've had great comparisons and coverage of these controllers, I went with Aim because they seem to offer everything I wanted and didn't try to force anything I didn't. I think which controller you would prefer really comes down to the type of games you want to play with them. Since I am mostly into racing games and fighting games, I wanted dual sense triggers and vibration but I wanted all the other buttons to be more mechanical and mouse clicky. Then there's the paddles, it's a big deal for them to sorta feel like paddles you would pull on a steering wheel, and they seemed to do the best job with that as well. That and the analog sticks need mentioning, because they let me spec Xbox style sticks with customizable height.

Thank you for a great lengthy and detailed review! I've been using Battle Beaver since PS4 days. I really like their controllers. When they work, they are great. but when stick drift happens, It is a pain in the ass to send them in for repair. I am actually having issue with my PS5 Battle Beaver. I have sent it in once for repair. I don't want to deal with the long wait time again. so I am looking to buy a new one, probably gonna go with the Scuf Reflex FPS. The fact you can replace and clean the thumb stick easily is huge.

replacing the thumbstick wont fix drift, cleaning rarely will either. Usually a wear issue. Scufs are less durable than BBs and feel like they are made from cheaper materials. New ps5 controller has replaceable stick modules if you want to fix drift at home

Aimcontrollers sucks imo. Stick drift since 3 months of owning the controller, thumbstick modules where the thumb sticks insert cracked on every corner of the hexagon, and the speaker never worked. They said none of this was covered by warranty and would’ve been like $120 to repair. So I decided to do it myself and it cost me $30 to fix myself. I also discovered the issue with the speaker was the fact that they INSTALLED IT BACKWARDS AND THE CONTACTS WERENT TOUCHING!

Wow great thorough review I love PS5 controllers I personally own the Hex Rival and Ultimate controller as well as the Battle Beaver I don't really agree with your ranking but it's definitely subjective on what you personally prefer while playing. I actually think that'll Beaver is the most comfortable to play with and they actually do offer a separated d-pad if you want one. Hex delivers very fast despite them being from China. I actually don't like the grip of stuff because I don't think it lasts very long it wears down after repeated use from what I've seen

Love the video, however I could not purchase another SCUF. Had a FPS custom build only last 7 months with smart trigger failure. No abnormal abuse and honestly lightly used ( I have two kids and run two clinics so not a lot of free time). Would recommend looking at warranties prior to buying any controller because SCUF fell short

I can really only speak to Battle Beaver, but I would totally recommend their controllers. They are one of the more expensive and you will have to exercise a lot of patience, but I have had no problems with their customer service nor the controller itself and I’ve had mine for 3+ years. If you really want a controller that’s unique to you, then no one does it better than BB. I’m an Iowa Hawkeye fan and those dudes put an Iowa Hawkeye symbol into the guide button in place of the X for the Xbox controller. That shit looks absolutely sick and idk of any other company doing that. I also prefer the buttons over the paddles and the build quality is excellent. Like I said, you are paying more, but you’re also getting more. I definitely don’t mind spending $100 more than the other controllers when you can customize yours so much so to the point where literally no one else in the world will have the one you do

Do not order from hypr controller, they’re customer service is garbage and orders take so long to get. If you read their cancelation and returning policy you’re better off just burning a $100. Ordered one before Christmas and still haven’t received it and customer service is non existent.

Hello, great video! I have a question. So I have heard that the AimControllers’ digital bumpers and buttons don’t tend to last that long. I was looking to buy a Aim Controller for fps games like call of duty but I am scared to spend 200-300 on a controller with digital buttons just for them to die in like 2 months. I am wondering, have you had any problems with the digital buttons and bumpers on your Aim controller?

@@itshammy6285yes the controller feels good especially with the grips. My only issue was how stiff or “sticky” the face buttons were and how squeaky they were at first. But I started using it more and the squeaky-ness got less squeaky over time. I don’t recommend getting mouse click face buttons as people have said they have malfunctioned and stopped working. The paddles are good but I think it is personal preference. I would rather play claw grip. If you don’t play claw, then I recommend getting the paddles and getting used to them (I think they come included, I’m not sure, haven’t seen it in a while.) The paddles for me feel weird but to you it could feel good. Other than those gripes, the controller is really nice, has 0- no delay, and I do recommended if you are interested.

Custom controllers really need to start using the hall effect sensors for 0 stick drift. The companies using OEM internal parts are lazy and not worth it.

The scuff paddles are easily the worst configuration I've ever felt. Battle beaver style buttons are so much better then paddles. Especially scuff. The two inner paddles are in a weird place and just aren't as easy to use as other back button or back paddle systems.

@@TomasVillegas how are you gonna tell me my experience is not true just because you have a controller that works? How ignorant can you be? I bought the scuf envision on dec. 2nd It delivered about a week later. The controller worked fine out of the box but not long after I noticed the paddles didn’t always respond on the first push. a little over a week ago the left trigger stopped responding while in the mouse click mode and would only respond when placed in the long press mode. 3 days after that while mid game the right paddle snapped off while pressing it. After looking at the other side you can see a thin white line on the left side where the plastics getting weak because it’s a solid piece of thin plastic so there isn’t any joint. Basically every press of the button bends the plastic until it eventually snaps. If yt allowed I’d post pictures with this

But I will say is Corsair's iCUE software is horrible, and I have issues there but that's software related not hardware.

don’t listen to this guy about scuf’s “quality” I’ve had 8 scufs over the years and they all break or develop stick drift within a couple months, anybody reading this should go with a hypr best bang for your buck and if it develops stick drift you’re not out $300+. I got stick drift within a couple weeks on my first reflex fps, sent it for repair and the stick drift was back and worse within a month, also scuf somehow forgot to charge me sales tax on my controller and I had to pay $27 on an already broken controller to even be able to send it for repair

@@TomasVillegas I appreciate the fact you even made a comparison video, but the reality is you are comparing apples to oranges here. The comparison between the budget controllers is legit and seems more than fair in my opinion. However, you are then comparing mid-level builds from Scuf and Battle Beaver to a higher tier build with the AIM. That's not a fair comparison. I've had PS4 Scuf controllers and they hands down look the best, but they don't last nearly as long or do as well as the Battle Beaver. My friend had one and it didn't even last 2 months before stick drift, and I think it was his R2 button stopped working properly. I've owned Battle Beaver PS4 controllers, and they just don't look as sleek, but they last. The have some of the best reviews in terms of durability out there now. I've never owned an AIM or Hyper so I was looking for a comparison. Although decent, it wasn't apples to apples here. Now to be fair to expect someone to go out and buy a budget version, a mild tier version, and a top tier version of each to make a comparison would be insane. especially since their mid tier versions and top tier versions are $300-$400. Although I don't think it was an apples to apples comparison here, I think overall you did pretty well.

@@paranoid24-79 I guess he’s trying to say that the more you instruct companies to break down the controller and customize parts, the higher chance for quality issues, which is true for any provider. With my aim PS4 I ordered custom face buttons and noticed the square button was stiff to press, had to break the controller down to reseat the membrane to fix it. When swapping faceplates I’ve also noticed that joysticks are finicky to reseat in their access holes as they are connected to the motherboard and you have to press the motherboard/joysticks against the front shell just right to achieve the proper fitting. With both AIM and BB I’ve had to go back in and redo the joystick housing several times as I felt sticky points when moving the stick in certain directions. This can also be attributed to custom parts not being cut perfectly to size compared to the default Sony OEM parts; those little inconsistencies can add up resulting in a nice look but janky feel. The closest you can get to factory-standard production while still getting the custom controls you want will result in the least buyers remorse when it comes to quality and performance. tldr: “pretty” hand-built controllers have a higher chance of quality issues. assembly line controllers are more consistent
