Scuf Envision Pro Review: Why Scuf is Failing Corsair

Ok so I purchased this controller the day it came out and there’s some things that I have to say about it. I’ve been apart of the Corsair ecosystem since 2019 basically using all their peripherals and software since then so this controller seemed like a no brainer to get for me. Fortunately for me in these 3 months that I’ve had it, there’s been no issues with it at all. The controller has worked perfectly in every instance I’ve used it and I play it wirelessly using the usb dongle, I’ve even dropped it a few times on hardwood and it still is working like it did fresh out the box. No stick drift still to this day and all the buttons feel nice. I use the controller daily, sometimes for a few hours to even nearly 10 on some days. From my experience this is honestly the best controller I’ve ever owned and I’d recommend it to everyone based on my experience but like with every single pro controller on the market everyone will have a different experience. Just like with the Xbox elite and all the issues people had with it, I never had any issues with mine and it’s been 2 years with it but I replaced it with the envision because of all the extra buttons and features. In my opinion this is the closest thing to the perfect pro controller available as of right now

yo hows it working still? i didnt pull the trigger on one today because my past scufs all went bad in one way or another sometimes really quickly. i went with the dualsense edge from my local gamestop and am loving it so far. i decided to just get the edge because i always ran dualshock 4 with back button attachment and it was always great. i trust playstations build quality over scuf. but i am wondering how yours is holding up because i am the type to rock multiple controllers. i have a xbox elite 2 as well and its nice i just prefer playstation layout for shooters

@@DR4GONCYD3 the controller is still working just as it was when I left this comment fortunately for me. still no issues with it. idk if im just a lucky customer or the build quality is that good. just like you I used to rock the dualshock 4 with the back button and still occasionally do for fighting games but when im playing everything fps im still using the envision pro till this day. the mouse click triggers on my controller have been fine but they’re one of the biggest issues for other people. you kinda just gotta test your luck and I got pretty lucky I guess

I agree the software its terrible, but this is not true (2:30). If u want to use the controller like a the usual scuf controllers (whithout mappings, the "G" buttons) u can save a profile from the icue software (hardware mapping) and use it with the app closed.

What you say about iCUE is half true. Sure the software has some issues but it's not always a problem. I had it on my old PC and played very well for 6 years without any particular difficulties. Second aspect, you can use the joypad even without ICUE in the background. Just launch ICUE, set the most important functions, save the profile in the Scuf memory, close ICUE and launch the game. You may have to give up some complex macros but the main functions, such as calibration and function key assignment, will always be available.

I’ve had mine for less than two days. Not once did any of the profiles save to the controller. Tried hardware mapping from the controller and it kept reverting to default. After 6 hours trouble shooting over two days it now won’t register with the PC at all. Spending over $300 CAD. Needless to say I’m furious

Hey man quick question the controller won’t let me change the 5 buttons you are supposed to be able to assign keys too it. It automatically makes them all volume buttons if you know a fix I would appreciate it a lot of want to use them for push to talk

I’ve been having issues with my 8bitdo Pro2 controller and am just about giving up on it for similar problems that I just can’t solve. So I’m in the market for a new controller and was considering this Scuf Envision Pro and I’m so glad to have run across this video. These controller issues when you just want to sit down and game and not debug are annoying. I will be avoiding this controller. Thanks again for this video!

Received my controller yesterday and played about 2 hours of warzone on it. Already has stick drift. Had deadzone in the software at around 3-4 and in game warzone dead was also around 4. I would open tacmap and if I touched it slightly, it would drift left. Also when I would be walking. Very disappointing. I’m probably gonna trade it in today for a dual edge to not ever worry about quality. Nice review!

Slight hot take here, (a little) stick drift on your right stick is a good thing. Makes it where you aim assist is active all the time. That’s why I play with my right dead zone on 0. As long as it’s slight, it won’t effect when you are actually aiming

I had to tape both paddles because they snapped. Software issues also constantly affecting me. Also both triggers stopped working with the mouse click feature.

I fell for the Scuf Envision Pro's hype. I purchased the controller using isac's discount code. It has been 5 months and one back paddle (p4) has broken. I think the pack paddle are intentionally designed to brake because they're just way too thin to handle many presses. I will never purchase any controller again unless it has been dismantled and reviewed by a technician.

I returned mine, non stop issues that were software related and it got to the point it killed the back buttons completely. I went through 3 of them then gave up. it sucks because when it did work it was awesome

All I want is 4 paddles. The sticks on a normal control have never been an issue. But ever since I used 4 mappable paddles I can’t play with out. Iv tried elites wolverines, and paddles you can add to a basic. Elite 2 my triggers and bumpers keep messing up. & wolverine the sticks are messing up or the a b x y buttons stop! The attachable paddles had crappy responses. Just want a stock controller with 4 mappable paddles!!! Was looking at scuff but then I see 10 videos like this!!

Just got this controller a few days ago and confirm it is 100% shit software. Spent 2 hours just trying to get my computer to recognize it as a controller input. And since then I have had the controller crash on me mid game multiple times. Tried doing the “hardware” mapping and closing Icue but then it’s just a brick. It only works if I have icue running. So sad cause the controller feels so good in my hand and runs nice if and when it works. Coming from a razer Wolverine ultimate thinking this was an upgrade but no considering return this and getting a newer razer

Mind you this is now 6+ months since the initial release so any issues should have been ironed out. I will not spend another dollar on a scuff product PERIOD.

As for the content of this video, I had bought a Scuf Instinct Pro a few days ago, but had to return it. It's an amazing controller not gonna lie on that, but the clicky triggers ended up as being a major disappointment for me because I was missing my follow up shots with marksman rifle (notably, the G2 in Titanfall 2 (yeah, there are still players playing on Xbox)). Other than that, I was appreciating the controller: great back buttons, great thumbsticks too and nice grip. Considering the Elite Series 2 has issues when I press LS in a diagonal position, I decided to buy my own parts to create my own Elite controller: Scuf grips, Scuf sticks, swappable faceplate, back buttons (Victor X set from eXtremeRate), and even clicky ABXY. Can't wait to receive my faceplate and back buttons to start that "soldering" project.

Im glad im not alone, i bought one a few days ago seemed to be fine. then boom all the of the above happened. ive done everything videos have told me to fix issue. Corsair software is def the issue. once i try to go in firing range the gun wigs out and stats shooting random or buttons not working. took it back got another on an hour away from me. BOOM same damn issues. I loved the day it actually worked but damn fix the issue or im taking it back.

The design of the Envision is just terrible at almost every step. Firstly, the SAX buttons are just godawful. Razer got it right by having those be inside the trigger cluster as extra bumpers, putting them on the side of the grip makes them so insanely prone to misclicks. Then youve got the absolutely bizarre (and stupid) decision to throw a PS style symmetric stick layout over an Xbox form factor which, spoiler alert, feels awful and gives me hand cramps. These form factors are designed to go with their layouts, so use them. Like, can you imagine a Dualsense with an asymmetric stick layout? That sounds just as awful. Use the layout thats designed for your form factor, jesus. Then of course the software...well, iCue speaks for itself sadly. Its a shame because in terms of functionality i really like the Envision. Its also got great build quality and probably the best microswitch triggers ive seen yet. But they went out of their way at every other step to make the thing damnably unpleasant to actually deal with.
