That's great, it's a really fun medium to work in! I've made quite a few mistakes and have had my share of issues as well, but it's worth it when you finally begin to figure things out. Good luck and have fun with the journey!

Do you mean hollowed out? I don't need to as long as I make certain everything has dried for quite a while.

How thick can you sculpt them before they need hollowing out?

Hi! As a precaution, I wouldn't go thicker than an inch. It also depends on whether or not you let it fully dry before it gets put in the kiln. Most of the time since I let my pieces get bone dry and there's no moisture, there's no need to hollow them out.
