Cool seeing the whole process :) when you prime the print, are you doing this to fill in any detail or purely to see imperfections? I'm printing in grey and working out if priming would help how clean the cast comes out?

Depends on what primer you use. The primer I use is very fine, so it will not be able to fill up any holes and is merely used to pinpoint flaws. You'll need to use filler primers if you want it to help fill up holes, and that was what people used when finishing FDM printed cosplay items that require a lot of sanding. I think they use resin to fill the flaws now, but not really sure about that cos I am not in touch with that community anymore.

@@zedabyu great to know it's just for visibility, rather than being a step in evening out, or preparing the surface for casting. I'm starting to cast a print at the moment, going a little more towards 1/3 scale. I've been playing with how far to push pores and fine details to read better, but won't know till I see it painted 😀

Also yeah, I recently found out how important test painting is lol... the sculpt looked good in ZBrush, the print looks decent too but after painting, all the flaws became really clear 😥

And here I am on my 6th print test (aka failure) so cant really lecture on not being a perfectionist. You make a good point though, It should give me some good practice paint heads :)

Haha! Nahhh I am quite chill if it's just for my own collection. Tons of flaws I just don't show in the videos 🤭🤭 but yeah, gotta keep trying to improve, especially after painting somebody else's work and being totally blown away by it. Dam, 6 tries for the same head? I'd probably give up by then and just try to salvage the print with some clay to fill the flaws out. Resin is expensiveeeee, especially at 1/3 scale 😯

WOW! Have you considered selling the helmet/ or molds? Do these fit ThreeZero The faces are incredible! I have only got the lord drakkon ,white and green cus I cannot STAND the blue,pink,yellow helmets shapes for their heads but I would LOVE TO KNOW if you were to plan on selling helmets in this scale I would buy them in a heart beat! 😊

My thoughts exactly lol. It's weird that they don't have the scan data to help with their official productions and had to hire random artists to recreate them, and more often than not they tend to not be hardcore ranger fans so the accuracy is just not there.

Still trying to find time to revisit these. Ace Toyz's proportions were messed up so all the heads I made had to be bigger to look decent on their figures. They would probably look too big on Three Zero's figures.
