Great stuff! Only tried monster clay once, made 2 bats. Took some getting used to, as I found it stretchy like chewing gum, compared to chavant that I usually use. This grey version, by waxy do you mean stretchy? 🤔 ..also, I've discovered an odourless fiberglass resin if something you'd be interested in? Though I've not tried it yet as lockdown means I can't get to my nearest supplier. ... Forgot the brand, but, if you search a channel on KZbin.. 'Simon a bloke in the woods' one of his quite recent videos, he makes a kayak paddle. In it he uses it, and there's a link to the resin under the video. Mind was blown as I didn't know it existed. It's for boat building. Anyway, keep up the great work, I enjoy your vids!

As usual brilliant stuff I've been trying Foam Clay but it's like juggling jelly trying it out for finished lightness

Cheers Steve, yeah I'm interested to try that stuff.

cool sculpt. kinda gave a vibe of an alien bat like creature, I saw this pic of an orange, cream, black, colored looking bat and thought that would be a cool skin color for this creature
@thedarkpower3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You know I was thinking of just giving him grey skin once I'd cast him up but I think I need to be more adventurous now ;)

Very interesting sculpture! Love an alien, zombie, orc or android! You're very talented! Monster Clay is basically plasticine, isn't it?
@thedarkpower2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! Monster clay is more waxy than plasticine and less sticky. It holds detail better too.

Is this a Vampiric creature? Once I catch up on bills in 3 months I’ll be trying gray monster clay. Great work.

Not exactly but I guess it's got that look ;) Cool stuff it's definitely worth trying.

At first I though that he looked like some alien butler, or snooty bureaucrat, then you brought on his companion and all I can think is: "What we gonna do today Brain?" :D

Do all your characters live in the same universe ? Is that something you consider at all ? Really cool ,as always ! He totally reminds me of kenneth williams 🤷♂️😁.

Hi Joe I'm new to you channel and love your work. I have been thinking about trying some sculptures myself. If I were to make some just for myself do you recommend polymer clay bake and paint and if so what are you using for the stand and armature that can go in the oven with the sculpture? Any info would be greatly appreciated thank-you.
@thedarkpower11 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks! Polymer clay is a good place to start. I cover making a figure in super sculpey here, including making an armature. I think I solder this, but you can easily twist wire together to do the same thing kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6uuq4Z7lNmXr68&ab_channel=TheDarkPower

Do you have to put in in the oven to make it solid or just wait like air dry clay ?
@thedarkpower10 ай бұрын
This is a waxed based clay so it doesn't dry. Heat melts it.

I got them off amazon. Search for 'reticulated sponge'.

Loving these kind of videos !! :) ... things I wished you discussed :) .... Is Monster Clay expensive & can you harden it when you're done or is it re-usable like plasticine ? Can you use paint on these clays & if so what type of primers do you recommend ? I notice it said MEDIUM on the tub, what are the differences in grades ? ...... thanks and cheers again :)
@thedarkpower3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Well in answer to your questions - depends on what you consider expensive I guess, yes, no, n/a, soft and hard ;)
