I was JUST revisiting your last two videos yesterday to refresh myself on the ear process. Thank you so much for making this tutorial. This is WAY easier than slowing down your timelapse to figure it out lol

I was really confused when i used "Hatch" on plane thin surface and it got eaten from the other side. Turns out backface mask was turned off this whole time. Now zbrush looks more familiar with your tips, Thank you!
@Michaduo4 жыл бұрын
I don't know how, but Dynamesh make back of my ear a flat surface that cuts through the ear
@FynnGB4 жыл бұрын
It could be that the backside is intersecting the front faces. Make sure that you have 'Backface Masking' turned on in the brush menu under auto masking. To troubleshoot that you can also turn on 'Double' under Display Properties (under the menus on the right side)

@@FynnGB Thanks. I did it in other way - i zremeshed both ears and connected them with zmodeler.

May I ask how can I show/hide other polygroups like in 5:41 on hotkeys
@FynnGB4 жыл бұрын
You can use shit+control and then click on the polygroup that you want to isolate. If you have one polygroup isolated and you click on it again you invert the visibility and every other click hides polygroups

4:59 How can I open that tab? Like what shortcut is used to bring that on the screen
@FynnGB5 жыл бұрын
When you have the zmodeler brush selected you can access the menu with the spacebar. It is case sensitive so when you hover over a point or edge or face different menues will pop up

Great video! Im new in zbrush and im using your channel as a teacher! How do i isolate the inner part? 5:30
@FynnGB4 жыл бұрын
when you hold 'ctrl+shift' and then click on the polygroup that you want to isolate it hides everything else. to get the other things visible again just click outside of the model into the canvas and if you want to invert the selection click and drag outside the object onto the canvas Thank you for the comment! I really appreciate it

Hey, good to see a video from you again, and it's a great tutorial! ^_^ I know you're going to do SSS in the next tutorial, but do you think you could make one about how to sculpt eyes at some point? Ears and eyes are what I struggle with most in head sculpts
@FynnGB5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Aquiel! I'm thinking about doing more tutorials about the face so eyes would be after the SSS one I guess
@hakka33854 жыл бұрын
when i use the zmodeler i can only extrude it forward, not behind the ear. Im not sure how to fix this
@FynnGB4 жыл бұрын
It could be that your step size is too large (when you press M you find the options in tze zmodeler brush), that you forgot to delete the hidden polygons or that the 'all polygons' option is turned off (meaning another option is turned on)
@tinkeranime4 жыл бұрын
Now how would this be done in Blender? 🤔
@FynnGB4 жыл бұрын
that's my next endeavour! I will start streaming in the next weeks where I will dive into blender and see if I can translate my techniques from zbrush
