Bought this game the first day it was available. Unfortunately for me it has seemed like the game got worse every update. Haven't played for about 18 months. Will give it a look again, because it used to be so good.

Same, I don't get what they are doing here at all, it is antithetical to what the game was supposed to be. I had a long running series on KZbin where I taught people how to play as a survivor and not treat it like a BR. I was hoping to open that series up again closer to release but not with shit like this in the game.

A lot has changed/improved with the game over the past years. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done by the devs but they have made good progress. I definitely recommend checking it out😁

@@BlackbeardKNAC Shouldn't be an issue. Find a server with dropships turned off. Or put up your own. Should be able to create or find rules that suit you.

i remember playing this game before vehicles and basebuilding were even in the game.. just a bunch of guys running around glitching storage boxes into rocks lol. Fun times. Now its almost too crowded and busy for my liking.

@@MrGameHunterchannel i had over 4k hours in the game when I stopped playing fulltime, which was sometime after the update with the ghillie suits, so its been a long time now. I popped back in a couple times to check it out but the boats and planes and now they have NPC and stuff... I really dont like how crowded it feels now. thats just a personal preference tho. I preferred lower population and lower loot as if it was really some post apocalyptic area. The game has had its great times and its head scratching times. Im sure you remember the point in time where the entire game was to find new shoes before your current shoes degraded... or the times the health system went off the rails and it was essentially a pissing simulator because you had to chug water non-stop or you'd dehydrate and die. LOL as I type this im laughing because I'm remembering how much dumb fun I had on that game.

I just bought this game two days ago and have only played solo so far and my biggest problem with the game is the map is way too big and poi’s are too far spread apart for the game to not give any cars. The closest I got was after raiding a city and a small village and I successfully got like 75% of a car. I don’t want to play another walking simulator so it’d be nice if they make cars in better condition or saturated the game with poi’s so you can find the parts without walking for multiple hours. It might be better for those who play with a group but playing solo is tedious, am I doing something wrong or is this just how it is with this game?

I understand your frustration. I agree somewhat that the we could use a couple more poi's to add variety. This is a survival game that is meant to challenge you to adapt and survive but yes it will be more difficult for a solo vs a squad. A long time ago cars used to spawn ready to go but the devs converted them to the modular system to give the players the ability to customize their vehicles while also adding the additional challenge of getting all the necessary parts for the car to work. Like I said tho this is a survival game that is meant to challenge the player to survive in multiple ways. Thats what makes these games unique😀

@@MrGameHunterchannelI don’t mind difficult survival games, I prefer them actually. My problem is that due to the fact that cars are stupidly hard to get running, and you are severely limited on what you can carry the game becomes a walking simulator with you running back and forth between towns lugging car parts as you go. To be fair to the game I like every part of the fire arm mechanics, other than scopes scum might have the best firearm mechanics out any game I’ve played, and I really like the idea behind the cars but they don’t have the infrastructure yet to make it an enjoyable mechanic to the game. In my opinion it’s no where near ready to come out of early access, nearly every mechanic in the game from melee combat to poi’s need to be worked on.

You will find some animals roaming the island currently but I am not sure if there are any changes to the hunting system with this coming update.

I don't know about deer, but I got attacked by two wolves (and got killed) in the woods. So I guess animals are back...

Dropships might be set to be neutral and enter attack mode when someone shoots at it or target large compounds

So now it's not just raiding squads that will destroy your base, but also dropships that drop by for a short time. Why would you build a base then?

In my opinion I will still build a base because it’s part of the game experience and it will add variety with a drop ship attacks. But the great thing about SCUM is you can play it how you want and experience different things.

@@MrGameHunterchannelI agree with you, but I've noticed recently that I've been avoiding PvP servers because it's less about PvP than about blowing up other bases and taking everything with you. If dropships come and attack the base, you're only left to expand the base. Which then means that you need a lot of tools to maintain everything. I understand, because this mechanism is there to get rid of whitewashed bases and vehicles that unnecessarily overload the server. But I don't just want to travel 100m around the base and when I come back my vegetables should still be there ;-) But of course you can also adjust the dropships or switch them off completely, similar to the mechs. So I'll wait and see what happens, but I'm rather critical of the whole thing, even if it's exciting.

According to the devs the 1.0 update has been pushed to Q2 of 2025 which means it should be between April 2025 - June 2025

Admittedly I have not played this game in years but the drone and the mech thing seems ass backwards of what this game was supposed to be. What happened to the story? If memory serves you are a prisoner sent there to survive so why would they send drones and shit to kill you? The mechs made sense around the military POI's but this seems like a novel addition for no good reason.

You are correct in the fact that your are a prisoner sent to an island as part of a game show for a future society. The island is controlled but the Tec1 Corporation which created the mechs, drones, and most of the other technologies on the island. The drop ships add to the lore in multiple ways that would be to long to explain in KZbin comments.

The whole reason they are adding them in now is to let the community test them before the full polished release next year. That is the whole reason SCUM is still an early access game because we are all just apart of the testing group who gets to play the game and provide their feedback to the devs as to what they think would make the game better before full release with the 1.0 update next year (2025).

Hello, Honestly, I think that the futuristic side of scum could be dangerous for him... it would be necessary to change the gestures of bonnhome the left right and the hyper jumps because many players are disgusted by 'these improbable and ugly gestures' and leave the possibility of having servers only 1pp because the 3pp system leaves much to be desired. ... but believe me, the gestures do a lot to give the impression that he's surfing when he moves... taking inspiration from Dayz wouldn't hurt... In short, it would have been THE number one survival game...

The devs have stated they are working on a movement system rework so I would imagine a lot of the common movement techniques in the game will change

Yes, but they are doing a testing trial run with a few official servers and private servers will have the ability to activate the drops ships if they want to which will allow for lots of feedback to the devs to ensure the drop ships are balanced correctly.

The devs have stated multiple times in previous dev updates that they are working on heavy bug fixing. The official video is linked in the description

@@MrGameHunterchannel They state it after each patchs. I reported no less than 28 bugs for now since one year and only see 1 (one) fixed so far (which came with a bugfix)... They DON'T fix the bugs. A lot of them are here for at least 5 years now... They lie and lie... On the steam forum, when we say there's a new bug, we're banned. All you can see in the video will not come out !

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I do have to disagree with you. Yes the game has problems and yes some things take a long time to fix but the devs have made huge progress and I believe they will continue to do so. But the game is not dead😁
