Although I feel Kathleen has many important & valid points to make, her constant giggling takes away so so much from her points & they sound like little apologies each time she makes an unpopular point. I need to learn from this & make sure I DO NOT laugh after I say something important. It feels kind of insulting as the listener.

She is super brave for speaking openly on this issue in this climate. It is a natural response to smile or laugh when nervous or afraid. Women are socialized to apologize for everything as well. I find focusing on or pointing it out in terms of it "taking away" from anything is unfair and trivial at best.

R. C I found this quite late. I think the small laughs may be because it's so ludicrous that she has to explain points that are so obviously basic. We as humans have recognised each other as a sex for over 10 thousand years. Nothing had changed, that why it's funny!!!!

We are lucky to have people like Kathleen Stock out there presenting this argument so well. 👍

I understand your kind of instinctive reaction but I don't share it and _anyway_ I find it absolutely irrelevant. It's like saying "ok you're saying the titanic is sinking, but what about your silly tics?"

She feels that it is absurd that she has to say these things, she seems quite nervous, women are taught from an early age to smile and laugh, to appease especially men, and not appear threatening. The fact that we can barely see her and her facial expressions but mostly only hear her voice amplifies her ''giggling'' to you. It doesn't bother me because I understand why she does it and I feel only empathy.
