Thanks Marann and all at Scuttlebutt for a great interview about Texas and her restoration. I look forward to your next podcast that get's down in the weeds about all the work that was accomplished and what is currently being done with her upper works painting and new wood deck.

The Navy loaned the USS Oregon BB-3 to Oregon in June 1925, and she was moored in Portland and restored as a museum vessel.

The USS Oregon was the first donated museum ship. It was later scrapped for the WWII war drive. The mast of the USS Oregon is the only thing that remains and is on display in Portland, Oregon.

Wish we had better updates on Texas I’m hoping she will be beautiful when done. She deserves it.

Ryan Szimanski he ain't. He was doing regular videos there for a while, and was getting better as he went along. Don't know what happened.

I did hear something on an update video about the Queen Mary that the city of long beach is planing on making a dry dock for the ship so they will be able to do maintenance, and use the dry dock service to raise more money for the ship and the land it owns. I'd imagine that dry dock being so close by would be a huge resource for you guys as well.

Always put the mic placement to the side. They will pick up just fine! Especially when shooting video!

Hey team. This was great but Kyle and Mike, please move the microphone to one side. I understand the audio may suffer but I'd prefer that than the covered look.

I am so disappointed in how the restoration, a one in a life time event, has pretty much not been covered. The most information about the restoration has come from individuals that the Texas foundation has threatened with lawsuits. The foundation should have been making documentary level videos on a near daily basis!
@BattleshipUSSIowaLosAngeles4 ай бұрын
Can't speak for what they've done or not done in terms of documenting the work. Can say that we have a whole bunch of footage around our Turret 3 operation that we haven't released because we're working on a full documentary of the event. It's possible that's what they're doing. But there are other factors involved. Namely, they have a really small staff and they had a set timeframe in which to get the drydock work done. As much as we'd all love to document and share everything, the reality is, sometimes you have to put the camera down in favor of completing the work because there's no one else to do it. And their work isn't just what's physically being done to the ship. They're trying to find a location for the ship, create a new business plan, and shore up the entire organization to ensure TEXAS lasts well into the future.
