Scuttling of the James Cook and Szap 8

I worked on the James Cook for a few weeks in 1997 - 1998 while it was attempted to be converted to a fishing vessel. The job was very poorly planned and the scuttling was no surprise. There was super structure above decks which was obviously later removed.

I used to fish with my back to these boats every week for years, wishing them gone. Now that I've seen them slip beneath the waves... it's a bit sad, really. They were not old, just unloved and uncared for.

I think the James Cook didn't have a superstructure. If she did, they cut it off and sold it for scrap.
