Dude!!! Thanks for the shout out! It's my honor to be a part of a Brian Cochener original. As always your builds are what our builds are like in our dreams. I know we don't see all the behind the scenes work. Yours seem finished at every step. Mine don't seem finished when I'm done. Hahahahahaha. Beautiful work can't wait to see what's next

It’s my pleasure Jim! I can’t wait to start on the second phase of this…. That’s where the real fun starts! Now if I could just land on a paint scheme…😊

Excellent, thank you! On the portals, I have toe-in too. I'll get adjustable.. Also had same issues, now i know why i have those rubber gaskets, I'll have to disassemble and put those in. I figured it out mostly, only had to back off one screw just slightly, so that should improve after the gasket i assume. Definitely had to grind down the cup slots. Also ground the outside of the top hinges to miss the shocks. Seems to be working, still need to plug it all in, and i assume I'll have to get the servo end-points just right. Looks like a cool build! I had bought the Meus LCG carbon frame kit... and what a Supreme PITA! LMAO Not so LCG! After the portals, and a 270 motor that sits kindof high (GamyRC trans print adapter from 4yrs ago), it's definitely not LCG. LOL Thank you for the tutorial and build show!

Sounds like you are on track with getting them flushed out. Had these issues with both sets on the front. Definitely set your end points, I snapped a dogbone end my first indoor course outing with it. Got a few shorts up of it crawling. Came out really nice in part 2! Thanks for watching and the compliments! Glad these videos come in handy for people. Cheers!

Maybe as a short video or along with your next build video. That would be great content for your Patreon subscribers, just saying.

You've certainly got to be ingenious with these mixes of after-market parts! I use furitek grasshopper flat skids on flat rail builds. The OGRC lcg rails are good, but flat skid is a pain. Great build as always, can't wait to see the end result!👍
@bcochener Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! I was a bit shocked at how poorly the Injora LCG chassis was set up. The OGRC one looked to have better shock mounts…?
@Logger_Crawler Жыл бұрын
@bcochener I bought it purely for the 8° angle skid and price point. I used it to replace an Akers Gecko frame on a build. It worked well, shock position wise. The build was a short wheelbase (C10 fronts in the rear) and I still managed to lay the shocks back 15°. I liked the upper link position options when using the flat skid too. 👍
@bcochener Жыл бұрын
@@Logger_Crawler that’s interesting. So you had some dislikes of the Akers chassis? That is one I have also been eyeing to try out. Sounds like the OGRC is pretty solid. I picked up that new MEUS builders chassis with the insane angled skid. Need to gets some parts together for it. Very curious about it as well. -Just too many chassis to build them all!
@Logger_Crawler Жыл бұрын
@bcochener don't get me wrong, the Akers Gecko rocks! It's on a cab only build now. The MEUS transmission forward concept is interesting. I've built it, but the slider angle and short front end make body choice a bit of a puzzle. I'll probably go cab only on this one, too. As you say too many options!!

Another AMAZING build Brian! Of course! Looks awesome and I can't wait to see what you do with the paint job on the body. Nice to know some of the pitfalls with certain parts, etc and I will be putting those in place for a current build I am working on. Great vid brother!
@bcochener Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dirk! I can’t wait for Stage 2! Whatever you do, don’t use this Injora Chassis! 😂
@mr.dillpickle Жыл бұрын
Awesome build! Great job with the chassis, too! I have pretty similar feelings about the Injora chassis for the shorter wheelbase. I'm gonna try the OGRC Gladiator chassis with the angled skid plate mount. It should work perfect for what I'm trying to do. The only problem might be that I need to flip my skid plate so I have room for the driveshafts of the axles I'm using. That would suck because then I can't have OD and the motor will be in the rear. But, I would be able to have the battery in the front. I think it will end up being better than the Injora one.
@bcochener Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, thanks! I almost forgot about this haha. I need to finish it up. Yeah that chassis was a bear to set up, but it seems great now. The thing holding me back on the angled skid for this was the sliders being flat. I do have the MEUS chassis builders kit still to get into as well.
@mr.dillpickle Жыл бұрын
@@bcochener Awesome, it's gonna be a sweet build! I got my Injora chassis setup great too, but I ended up having to switch it to a different rig to get it right. Is the Meus chassis builders kit the one that comes with the links, driveshafts and other stuff?
@thedailykrawl7084 Жыл бұрын
Watched it last night, great video as always! Glad I’m not the only one who’s had to work hard to get the mofo portals working. Once they’re smooth they are so nice! Bummer about the injora chassis.

I appreciate that. Yeah, that is my 3rd set of them - all having this similar issue. They definitely take some knowhow to get them working smoothly! And don't even get me started on that Injora chassis... haha.

I'm back looking at this build. There's some great stuff here. Always learning from your build videos! Hey, i am hoping that you'll do a video on a build that resembles more of one of those G-Speed bellydraggers. Why? Hehehe 😊 because that's what i want to try to build.. around 1/18 scale. This chassis looks like a good option for the build. Was looking at those rear shocks, though in the video you note that they are too far back, and you took action to fix that, i was thinking that some longer shocks (maybe Nexx 52mm oil shocks) upside down, and in a more upright position would be pretty cool... maybe some shock towers ontop of the chassis shock towers?.. to get it low enough ride height. I'm thinking a smooth flat skid. Initially i was thinking the Mofo aluminum X15, I'm a sucker for aluminum, but they're not in stock, and the nylon are lightweight and good for gliding over rocks. Anyway, there are so many uber-flex rigs out there, and not many that find a medium flex LCG style. Just figured I'd ask because it's so hard to find any build videos on this style rig.. lightweight, true LCG, medium flex, and sexy shock towers displayed with pride. Lol Thanks again for your excellent builds, always so clean and beautiful!

@bcochener is there any point to buying a stock Scx24 Gladiator? It seems like you replaced most everything right? Could I order a chassis and do something similar?
@bcochener10 ай бұрын
You could build any of these from the ground up with parts. I only buy them if I want the V2 ESC for something. I sell off unused stock bodies and such to help the cost. So it’s really up to you. Having a full truck as a start point probably helps some people. I’ve built so many, I can do either way easily.

@@bcochener thanks I’m kind of new to this and I’m pulling around with a JLU and I would really like to try a Gladiator but I hate to buy something and throw half of it away. Thought it might be fun to order a chassis and a brushless motor/ecs package.
@bcochener10 ай бұрын
@@ksenkow don’t get get this chassis I used here… horrible rear shock mount positions for LCG. I’m really liking the new Ramp Crab LCG kits on Amazon. You get a pretty complete kit for the money and they take some cues from high end chassis kits like the Cheat Code.
