Idk someone correct me if I'm wrong but to me Marcus and the listeners relationship reminds me so much of the grumpy old guy who ends up basically adopting the teenager they found in the middle of nowhere trope and also maybe found family (assuming their relationship is platonic) cause Marcus and Cole (who I'm assuming are pretty close in age) keep treating the listener like a kid, keeps saying they're really young and even refers to her as kid.
