So I'm going to use u9 box as an example here but let's say u have 40 gems box and hit a stellar now what I do since I play on xbox is when I hit the stellar gems is I hit B to back out of the boxes then I press A to renter and start opening again. I'm sure it's faster then waiting to be able to hit A again.

let's say that you get 1 fragment every 5 karma bars, you'll need 17.5k shadow caches. 3.5k if you got 1 ever 1 karmabar
