Douglas, your videos keep me up to date here in Germany in the best way since a long time when it comes ro railroadis in the Twin Cities.. Always love your competent,relaxed narration and the professional camera work particular the drone sequences which gives an interesting overview of the areas. KCS power could bring new colors to my HO Camden line, too .. 😊 Lookimg forward with high interest for the upcoming video, which eventually coild contain a bit Camden line. Promising picture... 😊 Keep on your great work! Frank

Thank you for very much for the kind words on this video! I truly appreciate the kind words, feedback, and its nice to hear how much you enjoy it. Do you model the Camden Line? Were you over here back in 2015?

As someone from KCS territory, it’s nice to see some of the Belles being “shared” up north. We’ve been enjoying the CP power down here as well!

Excellent video Douglas! It brings more locos and more colors to the CPKC to see in the near futur. Love the old SOO caboose too ;)

Saw them working the Camden run today while going over the Lowry Ave bridge, they were delivering to GAF. Great coincidence!

Small world! I saw that another one of these KCS units has found its way over to Portage, and J15. We just need to have a pair of them working around here now. Thanks for the comment!

Over in STP Yard, or another CPKC shop? The KCS power seems to be slowly making its way up towards MN. Thanks for watching!

@@SD457500 STP yard, I believe its going to be around here. SOO 4448 and CP 8781 are around STP yard today as well

Great to see these around the area! Excellent content. Would love to see more as they hang around. Or at least we hope they do!
@SD4575002 ай бұрын
I hope so too; they are a fresh breath of air in comparison to the normal CP power of 20s. Now, to get a pair of them together; that would be COOL. Thank you for watching!

Yeah I love the video St Paul yard I heard was quite large at one time I have never actually seen it I lived in the cities most of my life but never got down that way never knew it was there but now that I'm a train buff I would love to see it but I'm in central Minnesota now so that probably never happened since I'm up here and that's when St Paul.

Its amazing how power can get moved around the system; we even had a KCS SW1500 up here a month ago. It didn't last long, but image how cool it'd be to see those working around here. Thanks for watching!

The Camden Line-I must admit I’ve never heard it called that-was the last haunt of Soo Line’s Fairbanks-Morse switchers. Just like their brethren over on the Milwaukee Road, they were done in by an incursion of modern EMD’s. On the Milwaukee it was MP15AC’s and on the Soo it was the ubiquitous GP38-2’s. With the loss of the minority builders, Soo Line’s fleet became very boring-the only break in the “sameness” being the ten pariah GE U30C’s. I like how you included the little wye from the Mississippi river bridge. That little bridge fascinated me to no end in my youth and it prompted me to venture out there to see just how it connected with the main bridge. Luckily nobody came along to interfere with my studies. One other little tidbit deserves note. After the bone-dry winter last year I was anticipating a continuation of the years-long drought over the summer but Mother Nature threw us a curve ball and made up for the winter by providing a spring and summer filled with rainy days that recharged our depleted underground reservoirs and actually made Minnehaha Creek flow again. The Soo Line bridge is a great way to tell just how rainy it’s been. The piers of this bridge were rebuilt and strengthened starting in the 60’s. The sheet-pile and concrete aprons are perfect water gauges of the depth of the river. It is very unusual to see the water as high as it is on the sheet-piling when the leaves on the parkway trees are fully opened. It’s indicative of just how unusually wet it’s been in the middle of the summer. In recent years it’s become common to be able to cross the river on foot in places but not this year!

That's some neat history of this route! I've seen images of the FMs, and how neat that would have been to see those working back in the day. I made sure to have that part of the wye because in another video, people were asking about it! Thanks for the kind words, story, comment, and watching!

I like the white with red KSC paint scheme. Would be nice if the red with white Canadian Pacific and the white with red KCS paint schemes continued even with new units. This would even represent the Soo colors that a lot of the trackage is now on.

Fun fact, up until even a few months ago, KCS were STILL being repainted into fresh KCS colors! I'm not a fan of the new CPKC colors. I hope these units hand around for a long time. Thanks for the comment, and watching!

Did you get any other shots of the gondola at 8:26? I’ve seen ‘the alien’ quite a few times now, and this makes one more. Rather than a simple graffiti piece, I believe it was commissioned for a charity auction.
