The traditional handbrake is a big positive thing in my mind. Mechanically more simple and most likely also safer. And as someone who has experience of some off-road driving as well: believe me, if you are in a more challenging spot with your car and you have to yank the handbrake quickly, the simple handle is the much better choice than trying to fondle a small plastic switch somewhere where you most likely will not even find it immediately.

Great review Dan of a great car, one of the most honest brands around that are still able to provide new cars for the cost of a second hand out of warranty car. Dacia are the saviour to many people. My one wish for Dacia; build a car with automatic transmission, 4x4, dual fuel and if possible electric seats in the front. Greetings from Cumbria in the U.K. stay safe and well Dan.

New Renault duster 2021, STYLE version, 1,3 CVT 7gears (variator),4x4 will be the best choice for you. My duster 2021 (without "leather", 2USB for rear passengers, only one rear camera) cost me 20,6 k$.

Great review, it's strange how the Dacia cars specifications differ in each country. In the UK the heated seats, keyless entry, rear USBs and the 360 camera are all part of the prestige package.

Despite not being in Dacia's perceived target demographic I have always loved the Duster and really rather than buying an obscenely expensive BMW I should have bought one back in 2018... After driving the BMW for 1500 miles in 20 months! (Covid etc) I sold it and lost more than the cost of a comfort spec Duster. However in 2018 the comfort spec was around £13.5k new (even a 1.3tce could be bought at discount) and since then Dacia have increased prices so many times in the UK even our local dealer couldn't keep up! Would I spend £15k on one now? Sure! Would I spend £21k on one? No. Despite the many improvements (comfort spec also lost several things like tinted windows, silver trim etc) they are built to a price, felt carpet (not even carpet just a pressed material), very little padding just hard plastics and horrid rear drums that rust within weeks. Dacia have been clever in the UK to market this car as cheap yet used a base model you couldn't get as dealers did not want to sell them yet behind the scenes Dacia have just added costs and increased prices. You can only get the 1.0 litre engine now unless you want to spend just under £18k for a non white 1.3 comfort model... That's £4.5k more than two years ago! So due to Dacia's 'You do the math marketing' people in the UK think Dacia are only for poor folk and that's totally unfair. I love this in my view 'classless' little car and I would buy one just for family trips out but soon Dacia are going to price themselves too high as they now nudge other higher grade cars. £14k is a bargain but a top spec Duster at £22k is not especially when it doesn't even have proper carpets!

Yes you can sit very high. Depends a little how tall you are. But you also can adjust the Driverseat.
