I find it funny how the producers are fully aware of Destiel, but the actors aren't Jensen and Misha probably have no idea that their storyline was going to trigger us fangirls/boys into some heavy Destiel shipping.

Just anytime I need a laugh, I watched their panel or convention. These guys have so much chemistry between. They're like kids teasing & making fun of each other. Now add an articulate Mark Sheppard into the mix.

This was way before they knew much about how fandom works. They didn't understand what Destiel was, so they were confused by the question. If you watch the whole video, they had trouble hearing anything that was being said the entire time. Jared kept whispering back and forth to Jensen and Misha to repeat things. They looked completely lost. Then Ben Edlund chimed in, and they thought it was just another crazy thing coming out of Edlund's head. This wasn't them being uncomfortable with the content. They obviously played along fine.

jensen didn't look uncomfortable about it here. he + misha were laughing freely. but as a professional + fully grown middle-aged man, i can't imagine why a fan asking a question about a fictional character would be uncomfortable - none of the others have a problem with it. it's his job to recognise and respond professionally to what seems highly popular questions. what's NOT cool, is the horrid treatment of some 'fans' toward each other, whatever side of the fence you're on.

When the question of Destiel came up, not just Jensen and Misha who were uncomfortable about that, but Jared was obviously uncomfortable as well. You can see he's not really happy with the question as well. But Jensen did play along with it. As well as Misha. But Jared mostly looked uncomfortable throughout even when he was laughing a little bit with Mark.

Okay, it's really got to stop, now. I'm a slash fan (not for Destiel, but still...) so I understand the need to satisfy curiosity, but at the expense of others? Not cool. I hate that fans continue to ask Jensen about 'Destiel' when it clearly makes him uncomfortable. It just breeds tension and makes the atmosphere awkward. And Jensen's being such a trooper about it, laughing and joking more now, but still... A little respect for our fandom, please.

Years ago on a panel, Jared was asked about Wincest and he handled it really well, and said he didn't care if people liked that and he also thought it was creative. It doesn't have to be awkward, and if Jared can be laid back about a question about an incestuous pairing, than I think Jensen and Misha can handle just an m/m question. And as for that fan who asked that Destiel question, I'm pretty sure she said later that she doesn’t even ship Destiel, she just thought it'd be hilarious to ask it
