They are coming, I promise! Sorry for the delay. I got a promotion at work at the beginning of 2024 and I have had much less time for content but I plug away at them. Thanks so much for the patience :)

Look at the Whitney Webb primer on the SDG’s. Quite different than your own.

1 what is the purpose of a GOAL if it is never going to be feasibly achieved 2 in 2030 when they haven’t been achieved what then Because if I know 1 thing about smart people in suits the one thing they don’t like is accountability . So what will they do when they have failed ?

I think this is a really important and thoughtful critique. I will separate my response into two - accountability and goals. On the accountability side, I think you are 100% right. It is too easy for leaders to commit to things without having real, tangible plans to achieve it. We as voters and citizens need to hold them accountable for the commitments they make by calling attention to them and making it known that they matter to us. However, I don't think a goal is a waste if it isn't achieved. Think about it this way - what if you made a goal to lose 10kg. That's the end state you want to reach but to get there you need to change a lot in your life - eat well, exercise more, get sleep, reduce stress, etc. Even if you don't achieve the goal, all those changes you made are positive. I see the SDGs similarly. They were ambitious and frankly a long shot but they have led to some important changes in the way countries approach these challenges and therefore even if they aren't achieved it doesn't mean they were a waste of time.

The whole purpose of any goal is for it to be achieved these are not so what’s it’s purpose ? Take SDG 1 about no poverty places like the Mumbai slums with no clean drinking water which is another SDG in order to install the sewage you’d need A money and a lot of it which pushes up inflation. B you’d have to re house the 1 million people living there to install such a thing and even then it’s not realistically feasible The SDG’s should be more reduce poverty by 10% like what Ethiopia have done instead of absolutes Which are nonsense and not achieveable I leave you with 2 questions in another comment
