That could also be because the faster it is, the hard it is to hear the individual beats
@thomastakeshita49796 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think so.
@tyshoe6 жыл бұрын
First off that’s not the case. Secondly, speed doesn’t mean you are good at playing it. You have to be able to play it slow before you can play it fast, in which obviously wasn’t that case
@EthanArco6 жыл бұрын
That’s why it’s good to take a little bit of time out of your practice session to practice slowly.

Love you videos man! Keep it up! You're inspiring so many of us super drummers to always keep improving!

Love the video btw, my teacher tests our paradiddle speed regularly by giving us 1 minute exactly and he makes a tally ever 10 paradiddles and then counts however many extra there are within the last few seconds. I personally like the method because although I could play 205bpm for 7-10 seconds, you have to sustain it for a minute so it dwindles 210-205-200-190-180... should try it out, more difficult, also neglects PERFECT technique as the number’d be even lower it’s just for speed. Great video again!

This year for marching band in school I am a freshman we have a movement that is 180 bpm and it’s like a percussion special. It’s the song wipeout by the surfaries we are playing it way faster than it should be but just to show off. Anyways I play tenor and my max for paradiddles is 187. It’s across drums and I am so pumped.

I been drumming for over 30 years (not taught) as a hobby. I learned how to roll before i even knew what it was and mummy daddies etc, i used empty cylinder shape shampoo bottles on the edge of the bath, i figured out the buzz and formed a roll off that! I love drumming but never had lessons or nothing like that. I need to download a metronome and try this challenge. I wont get to 200bpm but i will see what happens. This is less negative and more constructive: The 2nd note of the paradiddle is consistently early especially at the slower tempi. This manifests itself at the at the faster tempi and you lose some clarity. A bit more deliberate wrist turn placement of that 2nd note the “ra” in the pa-ra-didd-le would help improve that issue. That being said, I always love your content and I cannot maintain the rudiment at the speeds you did. Nice work!
