एसडीएम थप्पड़ कांड में बुधवार को उस वक्त नया मोड आया... जब कैबिनेट मंत्री किरोड़ी लाल मीणा अचानक टोंक जेल पहुंचे और देवली-उनियारा से निर्दलीय प्रत्याशी रहे नरेश मीणा से मुलाकात की। किरोड़ी से नरेश की मुलाकात के बाद सियासी गलियारों में चर्चाओं का दौर शुरू हो गया... पूरे घटनाक्रम में सरकार के स्टैंड के बाद सवाल भी उठने लगे कि क्या सरकार किसी दबाव में है..? क्या नरेश की गिरफ्तारी के बाद प्रदेशभर में हो रहे आंदोलन को सरकार भांप गई है..? सवाल ये भी कि क्या सरकार समरावता में सुलह का द्वार खोल रही है..? और सवाल ये भी कि क्या अब नरेश मीणा की रिहाई हो सकती है..? हालांकि किरोड़ी की नरेश मीणा से क्या बातचीत हुई.. इसका खुलासा नहीं हुआ है.. मुलाकात के बाद जब किरोड़ी जेल से बाहर आए तो पत्रकारों ने उनसे सवाल पूछा कि क्या नरेश मीणा से भी मुलाकात हुई.. इस पर किरोड़ी ने कहा कि बिल्कुल.. नरेश से मुलाकात हुई है.. मगर क्या बातचीत हुई.. इस पर किरोड़ी ने चुप्पी साध ली।
