The difference between a violin and a fiddle depends very much whether you're buying it or selling it! This was a lovely rendition of a great tune! Well played guys! on a technical note though some folk fiddles have the bridge carved with a flatter curve to make it easier to "double stop" (play two strings at once) and often tuned differently, where as a classical violin is more curved.....

She has such excellent "articulation" of technique. Great to hear the second part which is often left out by others. Good backup too!

Very nice take on Ragtime Annie. Nice color coordination of the trio, too. How can you tell Fiddle or Violin? A fiddle sounds nice and is fun to listen to.

I read an article some years ago on the I-net that someone had teased a violin player and said: "Are you going to play that thing or just fiddle around with it"? Somehow as the years went by the term "fiddle" stuck!

I've never heard this tune played so well. This lady should be a national treasure but all anyone hears now is the same guteral beats played over and over on the radio. Sad.

Bob Wills said the difference between a fiddle and a violin was that a violin makes pretty music and a fiddle makes money. They are the same. Different strings can totally alter the tone of any fiddle. Also fiddle players are normally looking for more slides and a bluesier sound. They both are hard to learn and great to listen to.

It's no wonder the guitar player is trying to suppress a smile. If I were him, I'd be grinning like a Cheshire cat. I've been listening to fiddle music all my life for 75 years, including going to Bob Douglas' house in the 1940's and I can tell you that this young lady is among the best I've ever heard. At least from my standpoint of enjoyment. No offense to the late Mr. Douglas, but she is prettier.

I've left one comment, and I'll leave another. please announce the names of Bob and Nola Wills clearly instead of slurring over them. Also, you don't play a song, you sing a song. You don't sing a tune, you play a tune. A tune is a melody and a song is a melody with lyrics. Thank you.

This man is very rude. Cutting his wife off when she’s speaking so that he can speak but the music is very good. This lady is very talented and I like to listen to her but not that old geezer.
