With the Sabres, the biggest issue was in scoring and injuries. Upie is miles better than he was the previous season, the Sabres do need a reliable backup though because unfortunately Comrie isn’t very good and Levi needs more time in Rochester. The Sabres need more scoring,especially from Thompson and Skinner who were both having down years

Easy fix for your ticket scalp on one game boys - register it like air plane tickets. The person who buys has to register the guests that are attending at the time. Then upon entry, you have to show id. It takes a little longer to get in and it's more work to process but for 1 game a year, it'll get the desired result.

I used a partial version of my own custom roster using advanced stats for player ratings in NHL 24 to simulate a playoffs for my bracket submission. So many upsets, I felt terrible submitting the teams to win that I did.

1:32:00 Chychrun wants to know where he stands with the organization, who the next coach is going to be and what Staios's plan is to improve this team is. He's just being honest. The team isn't allowed to sign an extension till July 1 anyway. I don't think Staois is going to trade him unless he actually gets a package that improves the team. It's either him or Chabot out the door, if not both of them. Chabot had a poor year, can't stay healthy and his no trade is kicking in for next season. Chychrun, for all of his offensive gifts, he was tied with Kubalik with a -30 in +/- for bottom of the franchise. The experiment of having Chychrun play on the right was a failure. The Senators priority needs to be to find a stay at home RD to play with him to cover his deficiencies, or move him.

Everyone agrees the playoff format sucks. Let's fix it, but we need your reach. Could you discuss this on the pod? 32 Teams: 6 Divisions Eastern Conference A Div.- Tor, Ott, MTL, Bos B Div.- Buff, NYI, NYR, Devil C Div.- Pens, Philly, Caps, Detroit D Div.- Tampa, Florida, Colombus, Canes Western Conference E Div.- Nash, Minn, Blues, Chicago F Div.- Kings, Knights, Sharks, Ducks G Div.- Canucks, Seattle, Flames, EDM H Div.- Jets, Utah, Avs, Dallas Season Games against... Divisional rival teams: 5 games 3*5=15 Conference(3 other Div.): 3 games 12*3=36 Rest of league: 2 games 16*2=32 83 Games in a season Playoffs are sorted 1 v 16. The iced roster (18 skaters + 2 goalies), must fit under the cap, because I'm done with the cheating. Last 15 games of the season are against your conference (1ea), with last three being against your divisional opponents (1ea). AND You can win playoff home ice advantage against your conference opponents by having a winning record against them during the regular season... This gives meaning right to the end of season. 1st team overall can pick opponent in the first round, if they chose too. They also always maintain home ice advantage regardless of opponent record against you. What changes would you make to the divisions, format, etc? It still has division rivalry components with more games against your rivals in the season and makes all conference games more meaningful because you could potentially win home ice advantage. Games right till the end could actually make significant changes to your playoff positioning, so you wouldn't know months in advance what the matches are and have reason to try in game 83. We wouldn't be subjected to the exact same series every year. Why does the Bettman think watching the same two teams play each other each year the most entertaining thing, could you imagine a series with Matthews vs McDavid?? Odds of it happening are sooooo slim without 1 v 16. Don't give me the travel excuse for no 1 v 16. They do it all season and look at a map and see how far Tampa is from Toronto. Yes time change, but it's equal playing ground for both teams. This year's playoffs would look like this. (Home ice= HI) Rangers (HI) Vs Blues Stars (HI) Vs Isles Canes (HI) Vs Knights Jets (HI) Vs Lightning Panthers (HI) Vs Kings Canucks (HI) Vs Preds Bruins (HI) Vs Leafs Avs (HI) Vs Oilers

Adam, Roman senators did fight. The Roman legions were always commanded by legates who were senators, specifically consuls, former consuls and former praetors. It's important not to be confused with the word "former", the Roman senate worked differently than the modern ones. For example, when a senator was elected to be a praetor, they would serve a year as praetor, meaning as a court room judge, as well as serving in the senate. After their 1 year term as praetor ended, they didn't have to be re-elected, they were now former praetors, they could simply serve as a senator with that rank or go to command as a legate to some legion or to become a governor of a province. After some years they could apply to the election to become consul, if they won they would serve 1 year as consul and after that be a former consul. And if they didn't win, they would just continue as a former praetor. So for example, when Caesar was fighting in Gaul he was a senator, a former consul. When Agrippa masterminded the victory over Marcus Antonius, they were both senators, Agrippa a former aedile, Antonius a former consul. Basically every single Roman you find in the history books about having military command was a senator

This is now the third show in a row that Adam has blamed goaltending as the reason the Sabres didn’t make the postseason. Both UPL and Levi had a total gsax in the top 20, (better than any leafs goalie), and UPL had a .910 save percentage and 2.57 gaa (9th in the league)

The resale thing is actually a problem in some markets. Tampa (yes is a big market) has a ton of season tickets holders, but whenever the Leafs or NY, Boston play, people will resell the tickets at massive prices. It essentially pays for their season tickets, but you get a bunch of Leafs, Rangers, Bruins fans for their home games. One hand you're exploiting tourists on the other it's embarrassing because they're nationally televised games. At least with Panthers series the Lightning essentially have home ice even on the road

Ruff is not a great coach anymore and last year during their great run they had Andrew Brunette behind the bench as an assistant, who ultimately departed to go and coach the Preds.
