Many thanks for you both. Dr Robert Lustig gives us all the keys not only to understand our metabolism about different types of sugar but to have an overview how our way of life is impacted by the food industry. I am living in China (half-time/Sanya/Hainan Island). For the last 5 years, an yearly medical examination is automatically processed. And... a liver and gallbladder echography is included. So, 4 years ago, they pointed out I had a "fatty liver"and gallstones. When I came back to France, I made a counter expertise. by echography.. results " no comments about my fatty liver" . Incredible! End of last year in China " few traces of fat in Liver". Last week: " Normal liver". I succeed by limiting glucides, intermittent fasting + desmodium + different plants to.cleanse up liver. Here is a double positive feedbacks. Conclusion: on that point, it seems Chinese Medicine is more focus on preventive process that the Western one. This point could be interesting to be heard by Dr Robert LUSTIG. Bravo for your "universal humanist" job.

My leptin kicked in, when I was active, like bike riding..when I was under 55 It was why, if kids had sugar, on the weekends, theyd never got too fat, or fat at all. Today, kids cant ride bikes for hours So, they're getting obese😩 Itscwrird, they didn't know what it was until 21st century If newborns are getting overw er right? Is if food, only? Or...even use if THC or mom being around the smoke? Marijuana No one dares to go there Munchies

The sedentary lifestyle, screen time with time and access to many more snacks containing sugar - it's a nightmare combo package. We were outside running around after school, and not eating in class all day in school or grazing all day on sports drinks, chips, and sugar filled snacks.

Dear Mr. Sachs. I have listened to Dr. Lustig, MD. countless times. An amazing person dedicated to a amazing calling. All the interviewers and all their respective interruptions and telling Dr. Lustig what he should say next or emphasize do not equal what you thought he should teach and in the order that constantly derailed Dr. Lustig. I had to stop the video and move on. Mr. Sachs, I know you have listened to the final interview, as well any interviewer should. I do appreciate your efforts to make this all possible. This is the second comment I have ever written after listening to hundreds of videos. Other commenters thought different. Questions of clarification I understand. Respectfully submitted,

Okay Dr. I just cut out sugar in my diet. Almost impossible as you know as sugar is in everything. Lost 4 pounds in 6 days. Cut out wheat because of Dr. William Davis. Food Babe author had me cut out more items. Taking out GMO items. Going Organic. No dairy. Jesus, there is nothing left for me to eat. What do you eat?

Wild fish. Healthy oils. Nuts. Vegetables. Fruits (seasonal, from your area). Products from goat and ship milk (more healthy than cow`s) - if you are not allergic (but if you decide not to it eat it because of estrogen, ok). Ones per day: legumes. ONCE PER DAY, one third of a plate: whole grains pasta (from soybeans, buckwheat, kamuts, rice, hemp,..)OR instead of pasta: quality cereals (amaranth, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, ..) OR unrefined rice OR bread (wholemeal or high protein bread). You can also eat eggs (raw are the most healthy).

Endocrinology, according to my native Greek language, is the internal secretions of the body. Endo = inside, crinos = fountain. Therefore, we also call endocrinologists internists (i.e., those involved with the body's internal workings).

The first USDA food guide was written in 1916. It consisted of 5 food groups: 1. milk and meat, 2. cereals, 3. vegetables and fruits, 4. fats and fatty foods, and 5. sugars and sugary foods. During World War II a committee was established by the Unites States National Academy of Sciences to investigate issues of nutrition that might "affect national defense”. In 1941, the committee was renamed the Food and Nutrition Board. The objective of the committee was to create a set of recommendations for a daily allowance of essential nutrients that included protein and fat. Since no dietary requirement for carbohydrate had been identified a category was created for energy that could be satisfied by not less than 65% carbohydrate and not more than 35% fat. This spawned the premise that growing children need lots of energy and sugar is a good source of energy. This created a market for sugar laden beverages like Kool Ade, a powder mixed with 2 cups of sugar. My mother bought into the growing kids need lots of energy and I soon became a Sugarholic consuming two or more addictive Kool Ade mixes a day plus massive amounts of cookies and cakes.

Everyone who has an influence on the behaviour of people needs to understand the content of the book Metabolical. Doctors, dieticians, nutritionists, politicians, teachers, lecturers, parents and coaches. I would argue they then need to understand the content of the book The Sacred Cow. Then human progress has a chance of being positively beneficial.
