When I first saw this video I thought oh yeah he's another guy flapping his gums. But after watching the video I was like hot damn this is a great idea, and I ran out and bought one. With inflation I can see they raised their prices but this is still way better than going out there and finding big-time bucks on pinball lift, and you don't have to wait for it to be delivered in the mail to boost

Really useful video as always. I couldn't find the video on building the clear coating box mentioned at 13:15?

Good video. Just FYI, the current version of the HF Lift Cart doesn't have holes that go all the way through the handle bars. So I had to drill out new holes in order to get a bolt through that could be tightened with the nut and washers.

Also, I didn't have to adjust the cable on my cart at all. After installing the hinges, the cart still lowered as before. So that saves a step, so I'd recommend anyone try the mod without actually adjusting the cables first.

A HF metric wrench set would be the bomb for this. Splurge for the $6.00 (know you have that )

I wonder if a 45 degree bracket would work. But I guess the hinge makes it easy to store.

Simple rule for tools. If it has parts that move, spend a little extra for a good brand. If the parts don't move Harbor Freight all the way.

Adam Horton , good way to look at it. Personally, I go by”if your only going to use it three times harbor freight is ok.”

The bimini cap mod is a lot cleaner than the hinges IMO.
@CaryHardy5 жыл бұрын
Without a doubt it is a very cleaner look, but functionally the same as the hinges . :)

@@CaryHardy For sure. The Harbor Freight lift is absolutely perfect for pinball.

Hey, Cary! Great mod! I'm having trouble finding T hinges that don't have offset holes AND have holes big enough for the M8 bolts (I can find one or the other but not both at the local Lowes). Can you give me the details on which hinges you used and where you got them?

Curious. The lift table basically use the floor of the machine to bear all the weight. If there a concern of damaging the floor of the pinball machine?
@LordCyler Жыл бұрын
I dont know the answer to this but I'm also concerned and plan to have some wood planks that run beyond the side of the table so it distributes the weight across and to the sides.

So M8 1.25” for the bottom. What length bolts to attach the handle to the hinges?
@CaryHardy5 жыл бұрын
2'' bolts would suffice

How much does your lifting cart weigh? can you lift if to go with the pinball machine once in the back of a truck or car easily?
@kmg31444 жыл бұрын
Is it safe to use a lifting cart to lift the pinball machines from the side? I have a lifting cart with a platform that is 32” long so trying to see if I can get away with it without modding until I get more pins.

Have you had issues with the cart not lowering? Have had it for a few months with no issues and now it won’t lower?
@CaryHardy5 жыл бұрын
Can you manually lower it by pulling on the mech i specify in the video?

GHETTO yet functional... So very "pinball". We will spend $300 on a set of plastics for some obscure pinball machine from the 80's. Yet the tools we want to use to fix them are probably made with radioactive metal that was scavenged from the reactor of a scrapped 1960's aircraft carrier.

Makes it easier to find when you drop them inside the cab. Just turn off the lights and look for the glowing tools.
