Cary Hardy is one helluva great pin content resource! 👍

9:18 - I’m a repair/refurb noob, and I got nervous seeing “silicone spray” for the first time. Is WD40 like a verboten chemical for pins? 👀😬🤷♂️ P.S. Your earnest humility and self-deprecation in showing your mistakes & misadventures (all in effort to help US slobs not repeat them) is laudable. AND, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a sustained belly laugh when that screw went “ka-KLINK!” 😂😂😂 Story of MY life!! 🤟

Cary, I think the lamp base needs a frost or something to help scatter the light more. Great episode

Options are somewhat limited in the RGB department as of right now. I don't disagree though.

I had a chuckle as you said, always video when you take something apart this is something I didn't do, as we watch the video you took as you take it apart. Ending was fantastic!

Why didn’t you just get the double wire color changers from comet? Two separate lights on the same bulb? Then you wouldn’t have to add sockets

The ones I bought and prefer is the slow fading RGB - the others are high speed blinking RGB.

One suggestion for catching screws or parts is to hang some mosquito netting in the game to catch stuff. Easier than going fishing. Another is your parts you buffed was zinc coated. So a replacement is in order, like cold zinc spray or coating. IMO, a complete teardown to the frame, cleanup of the parts to bare metal, then sent off to a plating shop for a hot dip zinc coating. This is a permanent fix. With the system fully torn down, a full inspection of the contacts, connectors, and sockets, replace as necessary. Marine corrosion in a game should not be taken lightly. Or you'll be tearing it back down 3 months later to fix a glitch.

Another AWESOME video! Thanks Cary! I was thinking of upgrading the lights on my Data East Guns n Roses , Have you LED'ed an older Pin and it just didn't look right? Have a great weekend

If done right, ANY pin will look great with LEDs. There are so many options these days. Retro bulbs for an older game works fine.

Looks great with the extra lights...now you need to have the genie lamp plated so that light can really reflect off of it!

Pinstadium, that will be nice.. Do you have experience led-ing a bally machine from the 80s? Bally lampdriver is kinda sucky for using led's i understand.

you can either spring for the led molex connections or you can cheap it by adding resistors to each bulb. The molex boards are essentially the adding of resistors.

I think you should make the game how you like it, OG is over-rated.
