@@meilinchon6525 hi i dont know if bank allows to open multiple accounts for student coz in my place this only applies to someone with full time work. i suggest you to open an atm account and make it your savings. the money that's left in you will be your daily expenses, it also depends how much is your allowance coz college students often times go broke after a week bcoz of so many fees while juggling daily expenses. that's what my own experience and what my place allows speaking sorry if i cant help you. i hope someone can give you more accurate advice and tips

I have a target to save 500k each month so i only spent 800k (ideally you only need to save around 25% of your monthly income but i tried to be ambitious lol). I don't have any other income yet so this is how i save my money. But after you have a decent job and steady income. I think you could use seojeong method

Shie LA then you need to have at least a min amount to open another bank account. I guess you should either transfer a lump sum over for account opening. Not sure for which country are you from but for SG, every account need a min amount of (3000-5000) to be open.

It ok to have 2. Divide it to petty cash (for daily/weekly/monthly expenses) and your investment/savings acct which you should never spend unless for emergency.

@@tzu8356 are u working? After setting aside your funds for your living expenses, there's gotta be a surplus of money - be it 5% or 10%. Put it in another account. Better ask your bank of their investment schemes. In the Phil, you can avail for trust fund thru banks, you can invest in stocks too. But its super risky if you have no knowledge of stocks. I prefer bond fund or mone market trust funds because they're less risky.Try to not withdraw with this account unless there is emergency. If you deposit money regularly u would be happy with how much you've saved after some time.

I grew up privileged enough to not think of saving money. We're not well-off, but my family lives off monthly salaries too, just like your average middle-class family in the Philippines. This. I literally only have a chequing account (it gets replenished from my savings to x amount automatically once my landlord takes my rent, otherwise it's pretty dead in there), a savings account, a credit card account that I pay off using my savings, 2 retirement accounts (I'm Canadian so: RRSP and TFSA), and a few investment retirement accounts. I still have my childhood chequing account too because my parents like to transfer money directly in there instead of wiring me money for xmas or birthdays. Then I just transfer that amount into my main account. You really don't need to go crazy making different accounts for every type of expenditure in your life. Just be careful and track where your money goes and you're gucci. Heck, interest rates help your parked money grow further the larger the amount is. I don't get splitting your money like that.

I have 3 bank account.. 1. For my health insurance 2. My monthly income 3. My saving I usually use my monthly income to use it daily.. but, the other tips that can help too if u doesn't have much money is use cash when u buy something.. When u use credit card or other card, u doesn't "see" how much money u spend. But when u take some cash for a week, if u doesn't have any money left in ur wallet before the weekend, u know that u spend to much money

before, I didn't understand why my parents needed to have five debit cards and 4 credit cards, but now that I have my own work I kinda get it. In Malaysia, all accounts (for those who live at city and small town), for those account previously using bank books are automatically transfer to bank issued monthly SOA (Statement of Account). For those who live in village, there are optional choice of SOA or Bank Books, as majority is elder people live in village. Our bank is still using cheque books, but now many banks in Malaysia keep on pushing citizens to use Online Banking (1-3 days processing) or Instant Transfer (immediately receive, RM 0.50 per 1 transaction, but for this moment, Malaysia government had announced FOC for Instant Transfer).
