i'm still impressed how *all* RR heaviest ships managed to survive just with their CIC, twice now... Also, nibble survived the whole battle, it just didn't have JDs to escape due to KU retreating. a shame. a very nice (but terrible) ship is gone now ç.ç

Nibble got fucked by a nerf to heavy cruisers. Its been made with a heavy belt in mind, but at start of s4 (I think???) The heavy belt got removed for all CH's.

The Riders are the masters of getting rolled every battle, but pulling through when it really matters. Honestly, I can't help not root for the RR after a battle like that.

The Riders, as a whole, can be considered the butt of most jokes throughout the wars within the Outer Reach.... HOWEVER...... They have been in EVERY war in the Other Reach, they were part of the original war against the CDF (at least I think that's what they were back then). They were on the front lines during the entire Khan War. Every single time, the Riders were in the thick of it. and despite the numerous losses they suffered, despite the schism that currently plagues them... Despite all of that, the Riders, as a Faction, as Sailors, as Soldiers, have been FORGED by the wars of the Outer Reach. And every war just tempers them more and more. Though, lets be honest, the joint fleet screwed up this time because they were trying to target the Cantina. The Cantina has never fallen, where else would the Riders go to get plastered?

I think that has to be one of the coolest battles in outlands outside of HQ fights, although this season has geared up to show off several really interesting battles.

I like the updated visuals of the system map at 14:56 which make it more standing out that before. But now I see that PXC have somehow turned FOB Cairo into the Fleet Battleship Cairo. I wonder how Ace and the eternity react seeing that they had somehow converted a FOB into a fleet battleship

I swear ive watched every episode but when did the Riders split to FR and RR? And why did everyone attack RR i thought TFD insigated the CPR situation.

the FR and RR split happened after the events of season 3. About a week after the end of the supremacy war when a false flag operation occurred to cause RR to go to war with the KU again. However, it had emerged that the 1st fleet had instigated the attack which was called "Operation Brochet". The bad handling of the shitshow of said operation forced a part of RR to leave their post and went to form the Free Riders. It had also caused 1st suffer the split as TFD became independent of 1st fleet

Riders and FR split at the start of S4 to avoid civil war, and well CPR came to apologize for the Safina situation and agreed to attack the Riders to prove that they were sorry to TFD(i think it's something like this)

@@ISAF_Ace the Riders were very aggressive diplomatically in the weeks leading up to the conflict. When they boarded and captured a FR station, Khans and FR declared war (it's more complicated than this, but this is a general gist). It also wasn't purely a "Riders bad" thing.

I still cant fathom the spin to win tactics. I would feel having all guns lined up on the target would be a better idea then giving yourself a migraine

It's because of how SE's weapon targetting works. It draws a straight line in the direction your target is going and fires at a point along that. Since you're constantly moving off the line and turning the game's auto-targeting weapons like turrets find it really hard to hit you. So you end up taking a lot less damage over the course of a battle and surviving way longer than you would otherwise.

@@VallornDeathblade Realistically actual space combat would be similar to this. targeting computers trying to predict where the enemy ship will be in however many seconds to minutes the munitions take to travel while the ships try to wildly throw their courses any which way but straight. SE just has it be a little more extreme than one would usually figure since the engines have such great specific impulse and reaction control systems are infinitely effective.

@@trinalgalaxy5943 real space combat would only be done by guided weaponry like fast and agile suicide drones with either kinetic penetrator warhead or/and fragmentation warhead with proximity fuse. And for defense you would pretty much only have, jamming and active defense system because the ship won't be able to outmatch an uncrewed missile in dodge maneuver since meatbags doesn't handle well high G loads before turning into jam. That's pretty much already the case with real life fighter versus missile paradigm. Fighter can't really dodge (unless against very old missiles systems with mediocre guidance system, like this god damn lucky and fine F-16 pilot in Iraq who dodged 6 missiles) and mainly rely on deception, jamming and decoys to survive an incoming threat. Of course, ship will engage dodge maneuver because taking 9G's is better than taking 3t of shrapnel @8km/s through the hull or a 1t kinetic penetrator at the same speed perhaps with an explosive core to make your sorry ass very sorry.

Man, really sucks the modpack was bugged and KU weapons were taking way more damage than they should. Still a great battle tho, KUAF did awesome, unfortunate they all died in retreat.

It didnt, She got weapon striped, other than that she was fine. From what I know, the custom weapons she was using were basicly a lot weaker than normal 400's, and that why she got weaponstipped so easily. Either way that was a GG on both fronts

It's very interesting watching the different playstyles of the factions, RR fights to the death since they have so few tiles, KU and PXC tries to conserve ships for the arrival of new opponents, 1st just throws everything they can at the enemy in an attempt to break them with their mega shipyard, and CPR tries their best to conserve both democracy and ships, even if that means they lose everything but their capital.

So what was the final butchers bill for everyone? I remember ships stayed damaged in the first season unless they took time to repair, is that still true in this season? I think it would be helpful to include a quick roundup at the end of a fight to show exactly which ships/objectives were destroyed, damaged or taken. Pretty impressive that the Riders are still standing strong, I don't think they'll go down easy. They're doing way better against the Khans than they did in Season 2. This is shaping up to be another fun season.

Ships stay damaged unless they have a fob to repair on, due to the fob not being destroyed (bad call on my part as i was trying to defend nibbles retreat) rr zephyr insta repaired so all the rider ships that were basically reduced to atoms repaired. (as they met rule alive conditions just not combat effective). While shiver had to pull back to khan lines for repair.

Riders always have some tricks up their sleeves. That and the whole never retreat thing has always made them a force to be reckoned with. Them actually pulling off a win with their ships CICs being the only thing keeping them in the fight and the rest of the ship a total wreck? That’s what I call magic. 😂
