@Killayut, so you have come again to lie. Okrika and especially Bonny are not "pure ijaw" or whatever you call it. Okrika is a hybrid Igbo and Ijaw. Bonny are Igbos, a lot who have been accultured into Ijaws during the slave trade. Hence, this is why igbo is spoken there and you will here no Bonny man say he is ijaw.
@sosa92207 жыл бұрын
Point of correction, the slave trade brought igbo to Bonnny. The ancient Ibani did not want the ibo slaves to pick up and eventually learn their language, so unfortunately, they mostly only spoke Ibani in secret used igbo as common language.

Na wa o! When did Bonny and even Okrika become Igbo? Am part Bonny and part Akassa, am pure unadulterated IJAW. D mistake of Bonny can be pardoned but 2say Okrika (WAKIRI KE) is Igbo is beyond my imagination ! Wot's Igbo about Okrika? Is it d language, dressing or dance? Okrika dat has d fastest "EBEKE" (waist dance) amongst us Ijaws. Igbo pple fit dance lik dat? Please its not by force 2b Igbo. Go carry ur Ikwerre ninjas, leave us abeg. djt241 Of course Opobo isn't Igbo. It's original name Opubo means "Big Person" in Ijaw language but was adulterated by Europeans during d slave trade era. Anyone who says Opobo is Igbo shud explain y they all bear Ijaw names - Tonye, Ngowari, Nyingi, Boma, Awoala, etc. Igbo language came into Opobo as a result of slave trade
