Blue tang swim up to 35 miles per day in the open ocean and need to be kept in large tanks in captivity. Your pond is perfect right now because the tang is still very little, but in a couple years you’re going to have to move it to a bigger tank 😊

for real, I worked in a pet store when Finding Dory came out and we just didn't order any right before up until a few months after the movie came out. associates I worked with that had been around when Finding Nemo came out told me of horror stories of people coming in and demanding a clownfish that got upset when they were told no, as they didn't have anything set up to put the fish in. I once had a family of two young parents and a toddler want to get a crappy $25 circular tank kit and put a clownfish in it just because the kid wanted the fish. Nope. No idea about its husbandry and didn't even have a 'cycled' tank ready, and they were going to buy everything same day and didn't even know it was a saltwater fish.

Technically it’s not the best to have blue tangs in general because they need a lot of room to swim that most tanks can’t provide. They’re also not schooling fish so it wouldn’t be good to have a bunch of them as cool as it would look D:

You didn't get a mystery box you went to the fish store 🤦 that's such a horrible thing to do tho just getting random fish in a mystery box is the best way to fail and not truly care for your fish most have very spastic diets n need certain parameters like the (lobster) is a brackish crayfish not a lobster and prob can live but won't thrive in pure saltwater just do your research first my guy not everything's about the views

@oftheHowl

The impact was terrible for the actual fish, being caught out of the ocean and further damaging coral reefs and being put in tanks where kids didn't properly take care of them so they died

@@oftheHowl while l do agree on that and you really shouldn't get a fish or ANY animal for that matter without actual care and research put into taking care of it l will say when l ment the impact l ment the naming and the amount of kids who actually tried and were inspired to learn about marine life and actually found a passion for it (speaking from personal experience btw)

Dude you have an outdoor saltwater tank… I’m so jealous! What do you do in winter? How do you keep creatures from eating your fish? The sun from making it too hot?
@Krfification101
@Krfification101 Жыл бұрын
It looks like he lives somewhere near the Equator, or he may be in Hawaii, so Winter shouldn't be a huge problem. It also looks like there is a canopy above the tank so, birds won't spot the pond as easily to come and raid it, and to keep the sun out for a good portion of the day.

It seems impossible to me. All those fish will die very soon. They wont make it half a year. You need temp of 76-79 at all times. There is no way you can do that outside without a massiive chiller and a heater which would cost you thousands and thousands of dollars, plus hundreds of dollars to run a month. I know because I used to breed Clownfish and Chromis (I'm one of the first people in the world to breed Chromis in captivity.)
